So I'm looking for a Commander

Round never comes in contact with extractor, but checked anyway and it's good.

If the gun is going to work properly, it has to. They are basically a controlled feed gun, and are meant to be loaded from the mags. The extractor is part of that control. ;)

I appreciate all the comments, advice, and experience that has been relayed here. I've read in many previous threads a lot of accolades about the Tisas brand and, no doubt, I would be happy with that choice.
HOWEVER...I decided to go the other way. I ordered a Springfield Ronin. The deal was right. The blue steel over satin alloy frame just looked nice. And it makes a nice match with my Kimber Custom II. Pics when it arrives.

The round should be riding up under the extractor as it feeds, not in front of it. If the extractor has control of the round, it wont tend to nosedive and keeps it oriented in the proper position to go upward into the chamber. A properly tuned extractor seems to be the key here, and you can actually do it at the range, as long as you are careful that the firing pin spring doesn't take off to parts unknown. Kind of a hit or miss way of tuning, and a bit of a PITA, but Ive a feeling its going to be your answer..

Those MecGar 10 rounders have a little ramp in the front of the mag which seems to help get things going in the right direction right off too.

One other thing I did trying to figure things out with mine was, was to polish the ramp on the barrel, and the breechface on the slide with Mothers metal polish on a patch and a bit of rubbing until they were bright. It did seem to make things feed smoother, but who knows. I figured it couldnt hurt, and it did seem to help, if only in my head. :)

It's not in front of the extractor, it nose dives before the rim even makes it that far. I did polish and added a ETS raised mag release. No joy.

If you load up your mags and let them sit loaded for several days, this problem sometimes goes away.

Where'd you get the deal on the Ronin?
