Apparantly one student (perhaps former) from my university couldn't handle the pressures of school and all that jazz, it got to him and now we've got a possible hostage situation at the apartment complex down the street from mine (which has a history of violence).

So, I guess he's hiding literally in the closet with what scuttlebutt says is an AK pattern rifle and a shotgun. Helo's abound, cops abound, and interesting times to be had for sure.

This got my attention because beyond proximity, I've been working with the director of my apartment to create an emergency management plan and initial reports said that he may have been loose in the area. I guess we'll just have to see where this goes.

This situation hits a little close to home because like I said, I go to the same school and have been feeling stressed out thanks to finals and my upcoming graduation. I feel for the guy but this is certainly not the way to deal with things.
