so my girlfriend had never shot a gun before we got together. shortly there after, i took her shooting and with and set up a sillohette for her. her first mag in the 1911, three to the heart, one to the nose and three to the junk... [yes, she put an x on the little plywood mans junk]

not too far after this, she starts talking about wanting to turn my 1911 purple! i mean jeez, i know its only a llama, but come on!! this was my response. i gave her this for her birthday after some long 'disagreements' with her mother.

my girlfriend had a son who passed away at 6 month right before i met her. her own mother [that hates guns mind you], even told me how going shooting with me is the first thing shes really done that brought a smile to her face since everything happened. this is why she got it.

ps: it stays in MY safe with all the other guns and the keys to my other safe with my rifles... just in case...

almost forgot:

its a feg- pa-63

i still need to get a couple more mags for her and take all the floorplates and the "hammer strut plug' in and have them all anodized as well

You know, I kind of like the multi color fade effect.

She needs some pretty grips for it, though.

Good for you both! :D

i have thought about that [the grips] and even about powdercoating the slide for her, but she digs it just how it is.

as for the multi colored effect, its really just bad lighting. its all the same color, but its anodizing over polished aluminum so it is hard to photograph. plus the picture is from my phone.

heres a little better picture. let me just say, too, that this one kics harder than my makarov, even though they shoot the same ammo. im guessin thats because of the super lightwieght frame

Welcome to THR

For being a Walther type clone that is not a bad little pistol the two I have spent time with were well made and seemed to be a decent design.

If any lady has an interest in shooting to me at least the pistols color does not matter one bit the whole thing could be fluorescent pink with bright yellow or pink flowers or ladybugs.:D
Anything to keep the lady happy and interested in the shooting sports as it is the one single device that allows a 5' 1" tall 97 pound female to deter or repel and attack should the need arise from say a 6' 2" 310 pound criminal with evil in his mind and intentions.

Glad to see she has someone who is there for her and cares about what matters most, I hope and wish you both the very best of luck and not just in shooting.;)

Its not every guy that finds a gal who is even willing to try any firearm.

The funny thing is beginning women shooters allot of times do better than most men as they more often than not have allot more patience with no bad habits to break that and as a rule women have allot better fine muscle skills and hand & eye coordination (how many guys for example can thread a needle 100% of the time or sew a long perfect seem?)

You are a lucky man.:D

thank you. im thinking of getting another one of these ian having it done in either blue or green. the only down side is it takes a 150-200 $ pistol and puts another 150-200 $ paint job on it... maybe i can find a cheaper anodizer and a cheaper polisher.

this one with the purple finish has run just under 500 $ total so far. and i still need to get some more mags for it

I have one of those as well. I'm not to big on the color though, but hey whatever floats your boat, just glad to see she likes it. On mine the recoil is a little snappy due to the light weight frame, how does she like that part of it?

It's nice to head a good story, thank you for sharing.
Maybe some white pearl would look good on they pistol, no?
I like the 9MM Makarov round and I'm sure it's a great shooter.

BTW, you did a good thing helping your girlfriend through a very bad time.

Really good plan you have there. Personalize a firearm for her and it does a multitude of good things. My Lady collects pigs (including live Guinea pigs) and I told her she could get them all out and set up wherever she wants them. She stood there with tears in her eyes and couldn't believe I would allow let alone encourage her. Sometimes that little bit is all it takes to put real meaning back in someone's life.

Well done Sir, well done!

my girlfriend had a son who passed away at 6 month right before i met her. her own mother [that hates guns mind you], even told me how going shooting with me is the first thing shes really done that brought a smile to her face since everything happened. this is why she got it.

Very touching. Great job in opening her mind to the world of firearms!

You are not alone, I put together a 1911 for my wife and asked how she wants it finished. I will be applying Dura Coat Electric lavender to the slide and HK Black on the frame. She calls it her Barney Gun. But it keeps her interested, which means more toys for me. There is nothing like shooting with your girlfriend or eventually your wife. Good luck

Congrats on finding the cool lady. J&G Sales - jgsales.com - usually has a good price on the PA-63 pistols and magazines. Good luck!

Your girlfriend's PA-63, eh?

Suurreee...

:)

Seriously though, good plan to keep your girlfriend interested in shooting. Actually, I've seriously thought about building up a bright pink AR for myself. I can just see the looks on the faces of the bad guys when I appear with my pink AR. I'm sure that it would give me quite a tactical edge, what with their laughing at me and all...

Tactical pink, that's what I'll call it.

Don't laugh. The extra time gained from the reaction might well save my life. And the older I get, the more of an edge (fair or not) I need...

By the way, I like the purple...

Forrest

for the record - there was no plan. i didnt plan on buying her a gun, i just did. the purple idea kinda helped it though since i realized the aluminum frame would be fairly easy to anodize. thank you for all the feed back though. she love it and she loves the sport

ftierson - i like your idea of the reaction. i gotta say i do shoot this in one hand with my makarov in the other and even though i do have a purple gun in my hand no one has ever talked any **** while it was in my hands!!! i guess a subtle point is a point non the less, huh?

Nice FEG! I have one aswell but its just stock, Im lucky my wife likes pink and stainless and she loves Taurus PT111's and Taurus just happen to make a pink and stainless PT111 so this is her new carry piece :D

oh and I was lucky it only cost me $429 ;)

thats pretty nice. my girlfriend looked at it and said she didnt like the way the pink looks on the polymer though. personally, i still draw the line at parkerizing and am not a fan of polymer. call me old fashoned, but i just like shiny things
