From my many conversations with liberal women, (mainly women in general) I have come to one conclusion. Most (NOT ALL for you intelligent ladies here) women want to talk about a problem that is going on or that they have and just have someone comfort them and tell them that everything is ok. They don't want a SOLUTION to the problem, just want to express their feelings that such a problem exists. Hence the common comment that "guns aren't the answer" while never giving an "answer" of their own. It can get VERY frustrating as I've experienced it many times. If you come to me with a problem do NOT get upset when I present you with a solution to your problem......and whatever you do don't knock my solution without providing any of your own. I have had it with people who do this, and I will write you off for good and not bother talking to you anymore.

Like most liberal, progressive and leftist thinking this is totaly bass-ackward.


Poverty doesn't cause crime, but rather crime causes poverty.


Crime in an area drives out the productive (because they can afford to move to where its safe) and drives down the value of the property (thus destroying the wealth of the property owners in the area) and keeps any further investment out.


All the socialist "feed the poor" programs do is keep the poor poor, but well fed (so now they are fat poor people).



As for this "I'd rather use my body as a weapon" nonsense ... even a highly trained martial artist is no match for a couple of untrained punks who have been in a fist fight once a week since they where 12 and may be armed themselves ... and frankly don't value human life (especially your lilly white a**)

Plus too many women seem to think a few sessions of TaeBo will teach them self defense.

Another thing to consider is physics ... a 3rd degree blackbelt who only weighs 95lbs soaking wet is still going to get stomped by the 250lb punk who just wants a piece of her as...well I'm not gonna anger Art's Grammaw

I agree wholeheartedly, but many self-deluded men also fall into this category. Even with a profiency in real martial arts, nothing is guaranteed. Knowing how to defend yourself physically is great and all, but for some reason people spouting this nonsense seem like they only expect to get attacked by one unarmed, semi-weak person with a low pain threshold who knows nothing about hand to hand combat. Does that ever happen? Maybe. But I certainly don't want to bet my life on it.

Get in a fight and there is a good chance that even if you aren't injured by the attacker, you could disable yourself fighting him off. It's not uncommon to break your own hand hitting someone.

This is why I am still, and will likely always be, single.

Her overconfidence will be shaken by nothing but personal trajedy. It's sad to see but if it ever does happen, it will be hard to feel sorry for her. Like ignorace of the law is no protection from it, neither is ignorance of a threat.
 
Kung-fu or whatever is a tool in my little toolbox of life. However what I believe your ladyfriend is failing to recognise is proper pistol work -IS- a martial art.

If Punk A-C have knives and you dont have any weapons, are forced into a dead end alley. You will have to closewith these punks and fight them. Now one mistake, mishap or even if you did EVERYTHING RIGHT. Your dead. Why? Because they have a weapon. A weapon is just a tool, you could spend 5 years training hardcore and your still gonna get screwed over hardcore..

If Punk A-C have knives and you have your Steyr S40 , and you are forced into a dead end alley. You can draw your weapon and calmly instruct them that if they take a step closer you would be more than happy to drill .40 caliber holes in their skulls free of charge.

Heres another scenerio...

If Punk A-B corner you in a dark alley and one has a gun, and your unarmed. You cant really do much can you, even if you can successfully close with and fight Punk B punk A -will- put three in your back the first clean shot assuming he doesnt just close to jam it between your ribs.


Guns are tools, just because you have one available to you in a situation like above does NOT mean you will use it to kill everyone within a 10 block radius. Theres even a good chance you wont have to fire at all.

I respect their RIGHT to have and express their own views.

In some cases I respect their views as well, but certainly not always.
 
Had a GF once that told me she would not use violence even to protect her children.

In her mind, defendeing herself would lead to a more violent world.

She said "Let them do what they do, they'll learn it's wrong eventually."

Sick puppy.

People like that literally make me sick. They don't deserve to walk around with the rest of us if they don't think their life and the lives of their children are worth defending. My god I would have flipped out and dumped her on the spot if a g/f of mine said something that ridiculous. :cuss: :banghead:

Why does this remind me of Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Remember the sword-wielding fanatic and Indy's pistol? Remember the results? Remember the same type of scene later when Indy DIDN'T have the pistol?

I have NEVER forgotten that scene. It still makes me laugh and shiver at the same time.

This reminds me of a co-worker who thought he could talk his way out of anything, no matter what, he said he could use reason to save his ass.
We all mocked him and said he was crazy. He countered by saying that since we worked for GreenPeace that we should seek the non-violent route. I said who I kill or harm in self-defense on my own time is my business.

I hope he has never had to find out if he could get out of a violent situation like that.

And that he does not end up like Jeremy Piven's character in Judgment Night who tries that same thing and gets tossed off the roof of a project by an angry Irish comedian.
 
For those of you who believe a crotch shot will save you.

There was a time when I wasn't as zen as I am now, did alot of bouncing work at heavy metal clubs, and alot more just walking around starting trouble. You learn real quick how to protect against that money shot. And if I'm close enough for you to give it a try, I'm close enough to get my hands (or knife or club or whatever) on you, and I'm not going down from a misplaced blow to my thigh. And more importantly, never bring a karate chop to a gun fight.
