Ok guys so I am snowed in and I am wondering what your next build will be caliber parts color you name it. For me I am going to finish up my 6.8 build probably outfit it in magpul moe gear as I really like it

Juuuuust ordered my BCM upper yesterday. That was the last thing I needed to complete my first AR build:
5.56 NATO
BCM 16" barreled-upper with cold forged barrel, Midwest Industries 12" quad rail.
PSA "blemished" lower. $59. No blemish on it.
PSA lower parts kit, with mil spec single stage trigger.
BCM BCG
BCM Gunfighter charging handle. Medium size.
BCM buffer tube
Magpul FDE Stock, pistol grip, angled fore grip, SCAR rail panels for the rear half of the 12" rail, and low profile for the front half of the rail.
Magpul MBUS for now, Bushnell TRS-25 red dot when funds permit.
Magpul ambi rear sling mount.

Im thinking a PSA flat top carbine with Magpul furniture and a Burris AR332 scope/sight on top. Fairly basic-ish, but seeing as I dont currently have an AR in the stable right now, Im not too worried about fancy. Now I just need to find the money to buy one.....

I am torn between an accuracy oriented .223 upper or a 6.8 SPC II upper. Decisions, decisions. :)

Well walkalong I was in your shoes recently and I went with the 6.8 spcII for many reasons one of them. Was the fact that during the great ammo/components shortage I was always able to find 120 or 130 grain .277 bullets which are perfectly acceptable to load in a 6.8 and the fact that they are bigger than 223 helped me and it gives the ar platform more power and umph

lightweight build:
14.5" barrel with pinned brake
AP customes carbon fiber tube
Ace ultra lite stock
JP low mass buffer
Aero Precision low profile upper

Mine will be based on DPMS receivers as I have a LR-308 Oracle to use for this. I bought it just before the panic truly hit (the morning after Sandy Hook) just to ensure I had the starting point for this project. The 16" barrel actually shoots pretty good for what it is, but I want a different gun entirely. I dislike the 7.62 round.

I will be mounting a 24" bull or heavy (.936 or .750 gas block) barrel to it threaded for a JP Enterprises muzzle break. I use JP's 15" hand guard as well with no rails for starters. to round out the front half of this build a Wilson Combat adjustable gas block that comes with a gas tube installed.

The trigger will be changed, but I am still on the fence as to which one. I want adjustability, and it to be as light as possible (my bolt guns let go at .5-1.5#). The collapsible buttstock will be swapped in favor of a Magpul PRS.

This will be a heavy gun geared towards mid range (300-600yds) deer and long range varminting (600-800yds). I expect it to be a pain to walk with, but a shoot and watch type of gun recoil wise. It will also top my last build for cost at over $2k, but I don't have to do it all at once.

The barrel will come from either McGowen or Blackhole Weaponry and will be chambered in .257 Roberts shooting 100gr GameKings at 3100fps. My 98 Mauser get 3250fps with my pet load right now and I hope to see this gun replace it so I can build it next (7x57Ack).

Want to build one last one to hang onto for awhile.

Parts on hand:
Spikes BCG
Spikes billet upper and lower.
WOA 18" SPR profile SS
Geissele S3G trigger
KNS anti walk pins
Magpul BAD lever
Geissele Mk3 13.2 hand guard
DD extended muzzle climb eliminator
Magpul STR stock FDE
Tactical Springs extra power buffer spring

Still a few items to pick up. Probably be set before the end of the quarter; just in time for some springtime fun.....

I'm still broke, I have been pecking away at AR-10 uppers in .243, (super lightweight,) .308, (standard A-2 setup,) and.260 Rem. (heavy long-range.)

I owe a friend a favor, I want to build him a serious lower with a few extras and probably put a Noveske upper on it.

My wife is a new shooter, I will probably build or buy her something like a 6920 with the Magpul furniture.

I'm building a AR pistol along the KISS principle.

S&W ORC 16" upper Im cutting and threading at 10.5" and changing to a standard A2 front sight post, Magpul handguards, RRA buffer tube assembly and a magpul ASAP plate. I've got a old charging handle that I've cut up for the rear sight and plan on cowitnessing a TRS-25 red dot with them.

I'm also really thinking about that Sig "pistol brace" and I might actually use it for it's intended purpose!

I've been holding onto a complete BCM lower for a few months now. It will likely receive Magpul furniture, though I am undecided as to what color I want for it. I'm also undecided on which upper I want. I'm thinking 14.5 pinned and welded midlength, but can't decide if I want to go with a 9" rail and fixed front sight or a low profile gas block and longer rail.

Att his point I'm waiting for SHOT to come and go to see what's new out there in the AR world before making any final decisions. I'm really hoping that Daniel Defense releases their DDM4 rail for individual sale, since it's currently only available as part of a complete DD rifle or upper, but only time will tell.

No parts list, but after some conversations with another member here awhile back, I'm toying with an idea for a concept I'd like to call the "Go Rifle."

Basically, it would be a lightweight (under 10 lbs) 16" AR capable of 2 MOA accuracy.

The conceit would be that it would be a rifle you could grab and immediately go out the door without having to worry about grabbing a bag of magazines, etc.

There'd be a magazine in the gun, another attached via a Redimag, and a third stored in the buttstock using one of these:

http://stores.versapod.com/-strse-150/660-dsh-752-Tactical-Systems-Back-dsh-Up/Detail.bok

So, using 2 30 round magazines and a 20 round magazine, you'd have a gun ready to go with 80 rounds at the drop of a hat.

Optic would just be an Aimpoint red dot, add a sling, and you're ready to go.

I'm just finishing up my second carbine. If I build another one it'll be..

Coyote gun
M4 style stock
flattop upper
18 or 20 in barrel

or

.300blk so I can take it hunting. I might build the coyote gun full and just make a barreled upper in .300 that I can swap out for hunting.

I think I am done! I have 6 AR's in .223, 6.5 Grendel, .308 and .50 Beowulf with different configurations for close in to long range. I have probably been through 14-15 different AR's over the last 10-12 years before settling on these 6 that I have today. I don't think I will be looking to improve anymore, I am pretty happy with what I have.

good question. i picked up 4 stripped lowers on a black friday deal. been wondering what to do with them. can't make up my mind

I'm going to build a pistol on a PSA or Anderson lower. Probably a 10.5 or 11.5 barrel length in 223/5.56. Not sure about anything else, yet. I'm picking up my order tomorrow of a PSA stripped lower and lower parts kit and two stripped Anderson lowers.

A PSA 300 blk upper, on my AR Fifteen lower. I'm thinking in OD or foliage green MOE (just to not be black or FDE like my 223s) with matching mags to keep me form getting mixed up

Considering one of the 6 or 6.5mm wildcats based on the 6.8 SPC case. Would like to use one of LWRCI's new receiver sets with the Magpul mags. I have to clear a few things from the safe to fund it though.

Been thinking on a 204 Ruger build lately. It would cost a touch more than a bolt action rifle, but the extra mag capacity would be nice.

OP, I think you'll like that 6.8 when you finished, especially if you are a hunter. I used an 18" 6.8 (in MOE garb no less) to take two of my deer last year, and it worked great.

In case you load, I was using AA2200 (a great powder for the 6.8 ) with CCI 450 primers to push 110 gr Accubonds to 2660 fps with no problems.

As for my next AR build, well, I just ordered an M&P 10 with Magpul furniture and Troy sights, so my "build" will probably consist of me slapping a scope on it and hitting the range.

I think that once I get my .30 cal suppressor ordered and recieved, there will probably be a 300 blk in my future, so that might well be my next AR-15 build.
