After buying a Rohrbaugh R9 awhile back and loving it, I became interested in pocket 9mm's like the Rohrbaugh R9 and Kahr PM9. But what ever happened to the MSAR Archangel and Boberg, seems like they have been delayed and in the case of the MSAR fallen off the radar. Anyone know what's going on with them and what else may be coming up?

thanks ahead of time.

Boberg seems like a very, very small outfit. Probably just a matter of securing startup funds and such. There's a lot of insurance, licensing, and paperwork involved in getting tooled up for something like this.

Overall though, I think it's just a case of 9mm being just a bit much gun to fit into the pocket-pistol size, hence the rarity due to the engineering hurdles involved.

i have not heard any thing on the arch angle, but the Boberg xr9 seems to be getting closer to a reality. Forum what i understand they are son going to start production of costumer guns.

The MSAR web sight show a silhouette of a "micro sub compact" stating that it come out in 2011. we will probably hear more about it at SHOT.

For myself I have set a maximum width for pocket carry of less than an inch and the Kimber Solo is 1.2" thick which is .3" wider than my maximum otherwise it sure is a nice looking pistol.

How in the world could kimber make it with such a short barrel(2.7 inch). Even the tiny Rohrbaugh has a 2.9 in barrel.

Held the Solo today...very pocketable. Feels great, just enough weight/heft, not too much. Top of the slide is rounded somewhat...will be a hit, for sure...May get to shoot it tomorrow... I'll have one. Eight rd mags will be better for some...I went in to ask about the LC9. I liked the Ruger, as I held a non-working prototype, to get a feel for size/weight/comfort...but when the guy brought out the Kimber... knew I had to get one...A little bit like having a striker-fired 1911....
