Which single stack 9x19mm auto for CCW?

IMO, the S&W 3913 and 3953 (along with their SS counterparts) now showing up in some numbers on the used market from LEA trade-ins are about the best value.

For a little more than the retail price of Kel Tec P-11, and about half of what the Kahr goes for, they're worth a real hard look. From a practical standpoint, you're not giving anything away in terms of concealability or mag capacity worth arguing about.

SIG P239
SIG P225
HKP7M8/PSP

The P7M8 is spectacular for a single stack carry gun that is safe, has a great trigger and is target gun accurate.

S&W JFrame.....sorry I couldn't resist. :neener:

There isn't a better made, higher quality, pistol out there than the Rohrbabugh. I have one and I have another one on order. That $950 price is a bargain because they are going up. The carbon fiber for the grips has tripled in price in the last year. The heal butt mag release was done on purpose to both keep the pistol slimmer than a button release and, since the gun is designed as a pocket gun, there is no chance of sitting on the gun in your back pocket and ejecting the magazine.

If you are speaking about 'normal' carry single stack nines then I carry a SIG P224 in a vertical scabbard, the Kahr MK9 or PM9 is my choice for ankle carry, the STI LS9 is a great little gun.

One other thing, Your widths listed are not correct. That may be the Kahr's width across the slide, but the widest point is across the slide stop and is over 1". My Rohrbaugn is .88" at the widest point which is across the grips. I think you may have slide width listed, not the widest point on the gun.

As far as price is concerned, what do you consider your life worth? If I could buy a gun that was small enough and light enough that I could have it with me 24/7, that would be a guaranteed one stop stop with a hit anywhere on the body, 100% reliable, and able to shoot sub-caliber groups at 50 yards, I would pay thousands of dollars for it. The closest thing that I have found is a Rohrbaugh loaded with RBCD ammo. Both expensive, both worth it.

not certain who this was directed at, but this is semantics. the slide stop lever on the kahr is but 1" long x ¼" high, which means it is negligible to the overall width dimensions of the gun and has absolutely no bearing on the ability to pocket carry (on the pm or p series, the rest of the gun is as narrow or narrower than the slide; on the mk or k, like the rohrbaugh, the grips are somewhat wider). i'm certain if the makers of rohrbaugh decided to put a slidestop on their weapon (or a button mag release for that matter), it would not make the gun any wider than it already is in most pocket holsters.

I have to do it!!

Since the above poster suggested the Sig P6, I feel compeled to suggest this:

You wrote, "I had a Rohrbaugh R9 and a Kahr PM9. I eneded up selling the Rohrbaugh."

Please compare the recoil of these 2 guns. I have a P9 Covert with an AGrip on, and it shoots very softly. I can shoot many boxes of ammo in a day with no pain. I assume the PM9 is similar.

I have read that the Rohrbaugh kicks as hard or harder than the Smith scandium revolvers, and that by the time you finish one box of ammo at the range, your hand hurts.
