The XD-45 Tactical (5") looks kind of appealing to me. I don't have any XDs, but am watching the feedback on this one.

Any comments, experiences or observations from XD-45 owners?

Thanks.

I fondled one last weekend after shooting my son's XD-9. It looks nice but I don't know if my Kimber would like sharing the CCW role;)

A few questions for you guys -

- Does it have more case head support than the Glock 21?

- Does it have conventional rifling, or polygonal?

- Is the grip smaller in circumference than the Glock 21 and HK USP .45f?

- Does the XD-45 have the Tennifer finish on the slide? What about the other metal parts (barrel, pins, springs, firing pin, small parts, etc.?)

Thanks again.

Fully supported chamber

Conventional rifling

Much smaller grip than G21

New Melonite slide finish (US version of Tennifer)

I was going to buy a XD, but I shot my friends and I cannot stand the way the gun shoots.

They are pretty popular here. Everytime I get one in, I sell it fast. The guys that I've sold them to are very happy so far.

It's my new favorite gun and I have 3 Glocks!

I've shot about 1200 rounds through it with no problems. Great feel. Lower percieved recoil. It actually flips less than my Stainless Steel, full-size Kimber. It does shoot differently from the XD-9 and 40.

+1 XD .45 . . ..Love this gun. Just ordered a nice IWB holster for it last night. Absolutely boring . . .goes bang everytime, eats everything it's fed and hits the target if it's owner holds it steady.

This is the first time I have ever seen an ad (14 rounds of 45ACP in one hand), stopped at a gun shop on my way home from work, picked up a pistol, put it down and pulled out my VISA and CCW and said, "Gimme."
This was the second best impulsive thing I have ever done. The best was with a girl named Marcia in the back seat of my 1954 Olds. And, if you ever knew Marcia, you'd know that I think this new XD is one hell of a piece.
(Ya know, I think I might get away with this, if grandma isn't watching too closely. )

I just shot mine yesterday... love this gun. As has already been mentioned, it shoots different than my XD40. I have an M6 laser/light mounted on it, and although i've never WANTED a laser before, i really like having the M6 on this gun. Illumination and laser at the same time... sweeeeeeet.

It points good, shoots where it's told, and if my XD40 is any indicator, it'll run flawlessly for me. Dig it. Is there a subcompact XD in 45 yet?
