Over the years, I have easily owned 50-60 different handguns. I tried just about everything out there, trying to find a gun that met my needs for reliability, accuracy, ergonomics, etc.

I would own a pistol for a few months or more, shoot it, and usually end up selling or trading it because I just wasn't happy with it.

I found for me personally, the XD lineup was just about perfect. All of the XD's that I have shot have been 100% reliable, whether it was mine, a friend's gun or rental, was decently accurate, and I found the ergonomics of the XD to be awesome. Even the stock triggers have been pretty decent on mine.

I now currently own three, a XDs .45, XD-9, and XDm .45, and I am looking to add a few more in the near future. I am thinking about a XDm .45 3.8 and a XDm 9mm 5.25.

I am just curious if anybody else has found the XD to be a great fit for their needs.

Here is my current lineup.

I am not going to go out and buy every model made, but I really like my XDm in 9MM.

I'd really like to try a XDM...but Springfield also seems to be a real big fan of them, they go $600+ in my area.

I like everything about the XD guns except the checkering. It's a bit too aggressive for my taste, and I just can't seem to bring myself to sand it down...

Yes, between my Glock 19 and XD9. I actually liked the ergonomcs better on te XD. Why I got rid of it and kept the Glock, I don't now why?:(

I had an XD40 Duty that I loved, but didn't shoot well. I made the decision to sell it, which (in hindsight) was a pretty poor decision, considering it was my first handgun and I never bothered to seek some training to correct my very poor groups.

Later, I landed a job that gave me a couple days of "okay" training with a Glock 19. It wasn't the world's best or anything, but enough to get me shooting around 4" groups at 25 yards. I was pleased, and ended up buying a Glock 19 for my personal use and carry, which I still really enjoy and carry two years later. So despite the bad decision with the XD, everything worked out.

I'd like to give the XD another try, but I can't bring myself to drop $500 on it since I found a comparable gun I enjoy. No fault of the XD, of course.

I've got two. Both are amazing and are the most accurate handguns I've ever owned. Mine are both 4.5" models, one black and one chrome.

Before anyone makes a smart remark, I'm aware only after the fact that the chrome XDM was photographed in the wrong box (has a 16 rd .40 cal mag next to it instead of a 19 rd 9mm mag).

So yeah, I love the XD and XDM in pretty much every aspect.

I carry my XD45 more than any of my other handguns. And I will probably get an XD-s when Springfield bounces back from the recall. My wife has her eye on a sub XD 9mm. So yes we love the XD line.

XD9 from 2007 saved my wife and daughters life. I have no issues with the XD line.

I am thinking of buying the S&W C.O.R.E. 9 mm with a 5" barrel for fun shooting.

I have the XD45acp 4" Service and a XD9sc. I CC the 9sc ( cause the 45 is a bit bigger than I wanna tote on a regular basis). My 45 has well over 10K rounds thru it, and has NEVER had a failure of any kind. I have treated that 45 like crap to be honest. I don't hardly clean it, it has slid around in the floorboard of the truck, fell in the mud, been soaking wet, and if memory serves, an incedent with a spilled chocolate milkshake from Hardees. It is a Workhorse, and when push comes to shove, she'll be the first I'll grab if needed. I also have an XDS in 45, it is out at SA for the recall, but I'm gonna cut that one loose when it comes back. I liked the 9sc better (just me).

Love my XD 40. I've been thinking about getting a 9mm XD although I'm not a 9mm fan (I think it stems from carrying a service pistol I didn't like for over 10 yrs).

They make an Xd service 45 with a manual safety I'd love to have.

I've shot a few xd's and found them to be sweet. I'm also impressed with the build quality...

I have an XD Tactical 9mm, an XDM 4.5" 9mm, and an XDM 5" Match in 9mm, so I guess I qualify as a fan. Now if they would only put in a trigger like the Walther PPS it would be perfect.

Mine is XD9 with a PRP trigger that couldn't be any better. A great gun, never any problem of any kind. None of that stuff about not liking this round or the other, and never a kaboom.

I own the XDM Models in bot 40S&W and 45 ACP, and the XDSC in 40 S&W, I also own the XDs in 45 ACP, I have never had an issue with any of them, I own 3 other Springfield Armory firearms (1911s) and have found everything they make to be worth the money . I'm a fan . The Customer support is also top notch .

I have 2 XD45's and love them even though I have a lot of 1911's. I shoot them as well as the 1911's which is why I love them!

Big Fan of XD ?

Yes and No . I've heard good things re: XD, but probably will not own one, since my wife thinks I own too many of "those things" (and I would agree) . They also look too much like a Glock (the worst thing I can say about them). Besides that, barring expenses, I'd like an XD . I'm a proud owner of a PHP MV-9 (which I luv), and it is the progenitor of the XD . Decisions, decisions .

I've carried a full sized 9mm XD for about 6 years now. Maybe 90% of my EDC duties have been this pistol during that time.

I have many other pistols but the XDs have been uniformly reliable and exhibit an acceptable level of accuracy in my hands. Since I don't really shoot for "fun", only practice, roughly 90% of my centerfire roundcount is through my main carry pistol or its identical understudy to keep my kinesthetic programming as optimal as I can manage.

The XD pistol is, in my experience, an adequate tool for self defense.

I've owned an XD9 Service for six years. Never had any problems.

It's not my favorite 9mm but it works well.

I also had an XD45 which worked very well. I since gave it to one of my sons and he hasn't had any complaints with it.

I own an XDm 4.5" 45acp. As to the big fan, only shot 3 full mags. Have not shot it enough to say I am a fan of it, but can say when I need a pistol it is not one of my first 10 choices.

I don't have one, but that two-tone has had me interested for a while. I keep seeing them at gun shows, and they do look nice.

You can pretty much rest assured that when you get an XD or XDM that you're getting a quality product.
