My wife called me and said "One of the military parents said that the Post Sportsmans club has a new Colt Commander, lets go look." Once there she said do you want it ?(I had just been to the dentist and couldn't move my mouth) She told the gun sell fellow to wrap it up. He said, "But he has a Sig 229 in 357 on layaway."
She replied, "Get it also."
Wow. But I did buy her a new swiming pool and say that her mother could live with us.

My wife said something out of character the other day. I have a really nice drafting table that I made a several (Wow, 10) years back, but have never used. She told me I should sell it, and get a new gun or something. I thought it was a good idea too!

My brother died 5 weeks ago which caused my sister to have a diabetic based coma which she hasn't come out of. We decided to pull the plug on Tuesday. We went to Jensons to pick up some brass and I noticed an RCBS Pro 2000 being loaded into my truck. My fathers day gift she said. Personally I've always liked my mother in law and I don't want her to have to die in an old folks home like my Mom did.

Personally I've always liked my mother in law and I don't want her to have to die in an old folks home like my Mom did.

you're one of the luckier ones then. i envy you..

Me i wound up with a bitter, hateful, woman, that treats the WHOLE family (me, my wife, and on occasion my step-daughter) as a bother and an affort to decency (we do things OUR way not hers, how dare we).


for all that i still do not wish her death or even illness, much less the indignity of "managed care". i won't wish torture on anyone, and for her it would be.

as for my wife adn guns.....

heck mine keeps bugging me me as to when i'm gonna build her that AR15 she wants.

It is called being blessed.

I mentioned the other day that I was thinking about selling one of my guns to finance the purchase of another. My wife said, "Don't sell any of your guns. Why don't you just wait another month and it'll be a Father's Day present?" She's a genius, that woman.

I hear ya. I'm bustin' my hump in the corporate rat race not so that I can buy a house so big I hafta hire someone to clean it for me, but so that I can provide for me & mine. I don't want ANY of my parents (biological or step) or in-laws to spend their last days in a nursing home. That's where my grandpa died & I will do what I can to keep any more from going that way...even my nasty M-i-L, who does not deserve such consideration. Hopefully, I'll be in a position to treat her beter than she deserves.

Anyway, my condolences on your family's losses.

I was looking at a Springfield Armory Milspec the other day, and told my wife I really want to get a 1911. She gave me the "I don't think so, buster" look. I was expecting a we-have-too-much-else-to-worry-about-to-be-thinking-about-another-gun comment, but instead it was "But what about that 9mm for me?" So, I guess I'm saving for two new guns.
