I know several folks have cut up a speed wrench socket to use on the belt guns, but has anyone tried to make one for the little fellas in .31?

Wondering what size socket to ruin to have something to pull nipples on a Remmi '63 and a Colt '49 as they are teenie tiny.

Wonder if there would be a market for a nipple wrench set up like yea olde auto mobile Lug wrench with a cross layout and different sized nipple wrench "heads" on each arm, or maybe three sizes of wrenches and a vent pick or flat head screw driver blade ( or both a la Enfield Sarn't tool)

Hmm, maybe a single sized wrench and two sizes of flat head screwdriver appropriate to the gun to be used on in a Y shape.......or back to the X shape and have it one socket two screw drivers and a wedge puller/hammer for the Colts.

Just cogitating.....

Well, kbob, you've got my attention. Right now, all I have are two Remingtons and my son Matt has his .44 "fake Navy" short-barrel; so one nipple wrench works since we just take turns. But you know how it gets around here, too many ENABLERS means "You just can't have one!" Or five, ten, or....
I have to admit that I've been having these weird dreams about a steel-frame, bobbed-barrel '60 Army; maybe a '49 pocket or the pocket Remington, if I can still find a steel-framed one. And my wife is starting to take an interest; which means I'm probably gonna "lose" one of mine to her -likely the 5.5" NMA- and will have to replace it. And someday I'll have to try out a .36 so there's another whole can of worms :uhoh:

Your "star wrench" idea is intriguing; maybe one with "bits" for the various sizes of nipples. I've been lucky so far, haven't had to dig out a dental pick for any flash holes, but there WILL be a first time, I'm sure. The wedge hammer is mildly interesting, too; although I had pretty good luck with my files and stones on Matt's barrel wedge.
You could end up starting another 'cottage industry' with this idea.... maybe "kBob's Holy Black multi-tool" a la the infamous "Leatherman" and it's various clones. I could see the sales pages in TOW and/or Dixie now....
