I just wanted to take a second and throw out a huge thank you to SOG Knives.

I have a knife (Flash Tanto Serrated) that after a few months of ownership i noticed that the tip was broken. It made the tip about a 1/32 inch wide inside of a nice point. I was bummed and decided to just send it back with a letter saying I was sure when it broke or how it broke. I was fully aware this may not be covered and may warrant a charge.

After about a week, I get a email that the knife is on its way back. A few days after that (Christmas Eve), I get my knife back, with a fresh tip, freshly sharpened and best of all no charge or questions!!!!

I love when businesses just take care of problems, what a simple concept.

Once again, a great thanks and a huge endorsement for SOG Knives

PS - second best part was my friend took care of the shipping for me, I literally did nothing in this scenario, lol

I had a similar experience some time back with the company (I think it was Gutman Cutlery in New York), that at the time imported Wenger Swiss Army Knives. I bought it out of the scratch and dent case at a department store as it had been severely damaged, most likely from being dropped on the floor. I figured $18 was worth taking a chance on it as it was originally priced at over $100. Sent it to the importer asking for a quote on how much it would cost to repair it. They sent it back about a month and a half later completely repaired and at no cost to me!

Now that's customer service.

Good to hear positive customer service stories about SOG. Normally, the stories are negative.

I sent SOG a Trident knife that had a loosened grip for regluing. They did do that, BUT someone then took the hair-popping convex edge I had spent hours to put on, and ground it off with a sloppy & uneven v-edge. Even if I try to put on a new convex edge, I'd have to first grind away almost 1/2" of the blade width before I could get to enough steel to redo. It's been thrown in the closet and never touched since I got it back.

Suffice to say that I'll never do business with SOG again.
