Sold an AR, bought something with soul.

With the current market and an unreliable at best shoulder joint my .50 Beowulf met the chopping block. While the recoil isn't that bad, firing it repeatedly can be a touch abusive. Really, who wants to slow fire a Beowulf. I'd been hunting for a S&W 44 Special to fuel my new found love for the round. I think it is very under appreciated and capable. While searching for a new toy with the proceeds of the AR sale, I found this gem. An unfired 24-3 Lew Horton. I'm just glad, being that it is older than I, someone had the foresight to hold onto it for me. I can't wait to break it in.

I paid a pretty penny for it but I'm ok with that given it is unfired.
Happily for me I have both a Lew Horten 24 just like that AND my AR.

"I plan on shooting the snot out of it"

Good man. Haha! It just drives me crazy when someone wont shoot a beautiful gun. Why not just save some money and hang a picture of a gun on your wall? Guns were meant to be shot.

So beautiful!!

I recently picked up a single action in 44Spec, and would nearly kill to aquire a S&W like that!!

Me too. Someone earlier mentioned not to holster it. I'm thinking a bit of honest wear will add some character. Dare I mention I plan to shoot bullets made from scrap wheel weights through it?

What a great find, I love Smith revolvers, and find that I shoot them better than any semi auto I own. My 14 year old son has also discovered he shoots revolvers better too, and my 2.5" 66-2 has become his new favorite, even surpasing the HK USP ELITE!
