I came into one of the pistols that has been on my short list for awhile now...a Kahr K9...for  $300!! In my neck of the woods, such deals are unheard of! It is the blued model, and it looks as if the bluing on the cocking serrations is going to need a doing, but other than that it is in very good shape. Also included were 3 mags (2 Factory) and a Galco COP slide. The sights are TruGlows. I can't wait to pick up some 9mm ammo to give her a run. The weapon was owned by a police officer in one of our local precincts and he was selling it to finance a S&W J-frame.:D
Also, can anyone here steer me in the right direction as to what grain bullet would probably work best in my new beauty?

Good deal there!

There is something just right to me, in those steel framed "flat revolvers". I can adapt to the trigger pull in very short order, since I like to shoot five/six/seven guns in double-action mode.

Yeah, time to add one to my list.

I think they are a bit heavy for pocket carry and I don't trust the plastic-framed ones, from personal experience.

Who can't actually answer your question. Get a selection of 9mm cartridges and find out! And you might ask Mr Previous Owner if any loads or types (steel, aluminum?) caused problems.

well, I shot it today...

with 147 gr Hydrashoks, and tho it was a tad low (like an inch maybe), it was easily combat capable. That inch low may even have been me pulling the trigger with a little too much trigger finger. I only did a short test after work, but so far, I really like it. No FTF, FTE. The only issue I had was that the first round did not want to feed properly, and the mag lips may need tweaking.

Gunhappy:

Congratulations on your P9!

Kahr recommends that you chamber a round by depressing the slide release instead of trying to slingshot it.

For most , it works every time. :)

Enjoy it.
