From what I have read water jugs are very destructive to a bullet and will tear up a bullet significantly more than ballistics gell does so take the results with a grain of salt.

Thank you for taking the time to set up for the demonstration and then documenting it so carefully to share with us.

Like ballistic gel, water jugs can serve as a useful, uniform medium for comparing the performance of different projectiles. We just have to resist the temptation to extrapolate from a bullet's performance in water jugs to its performance in wildlife (or a human). So long as we don't make the mistake of concluding that because bullet "A" went through four water jugs and bullet "B" went through seven, bullet "B" will perform better on deer, the results of your tests are perfectly valid.

I recovered the first bullet so I shot the rest of the 4 I brought out on my 100 yard target. This Tikka never disappoints. By all account this barrel should be shot out but it just keeps on shooting.

Got a T3 in .30-06, Tikkas are real ''tack drivers'' which always amazes me given their pricing.

Fantastic, high quality photos. Thanks for this write-up.

Those Fusions are really something else aren't they? They seem to be the Core-Lokt of my generation; they're inexpensive, shoot well in many rifles and expand unerringly in virtually any game you choose to shoot.

I really think they are equal to any other bonded bullet you can buy and the price is amazing. These were pulled bullets from American Reloading I got for $35 for 250 shipped. Compare that to a box of 50 accubonds lol. I wish Speer would sell them all as component bullets. Core loct's are also underated

That is a stupendous price. I'm gonna have to wander over there and see what they have. They might not have the fancy colored tips or the mylar inlays on their boxes that catch the attention of the "with-it and hip" but I've had no complaints so far. I poo-poo'ed them for the longest time but a friend asked me to sight in a couple of his rifles 243 and a 270. They shot so well I bought a box for the wife's 270, those shot so well I bought 4 more boxes at Runnings in Glendive.
