I went out to shoot my .270 on my home from work. It is a Ruger M77 .270 with a simmons scope. The load is a 150 gr. nosler partition with 50 gr. h4350 at 3.310. It shot about a 3/4" 3 round group at 100 yards. Booyah!. I was going to shoot my 30-30 but a band of sheep moved into the shooting area so I stopped and watched them. Here's a pic of each.

Dumb as a sheep!! Don't even know to stay off the firing range!! I hear that they eat fairly well ...never ate any. Did raise a few for 4H and FFA kids... take my word for it ...they ain't dumb!

Good shooting with the 270... my brother has always shot one and has killed many deer with his.

I think I'm ready for hunting season. I just have to adjust the scope a little up and a little to the left. as far as the sheep, I'll stick to deer and elk. I consider the sheep around here as a pest. You could be out hiking with your dogs way out in the middle of nowhere and have an "encounter" with them and the big dogs come out and charge you.

Nice shooting. A group like that speaks well for the shooter too.

BTW, there is one thing dumber than a sheep. A turkey!
