Thanks again for the kind words! :)

You keep that up & I'm gonna have to work you in somewhere.
Whenever you're ready buddy! ;)

Can you elaborate on the EEVO? Where in the process was it applied? What do you use to get the final luster?
I fully finish the inside and do the first coat of dye on the outside before stitching the belt loop and mainseam. It's after this first coat that I apply a coat or two of the olive oil. It has to be high quality extra virgin, as it is the only type that is Ph balanced. Or you can wait until before doing the final finish application but it needs time to dry before that.

I get the luster through hand buffing. After it's stitched, any time it gets damp, I buff it. I buff after the last coat of dye, which is when I usually wet form it. I buff while doing the application of gum trag and I buff the final finish.

Thanks for that info, much appreciated. I slapped together a simple slide belt holster with open bottom just to see if I felt comfortable with the cant angle and to verify the gun (Browning BDA 380) would not pop out. Well, one thing led to the next and I'm into holster number six. Each one is a slight improvement over the preceding version. I have the stitching and forming process under control so I'll be concentrating on the leather finish and tooling next. Once I get a handle on these steps using scrap pieces, I'll put it all the processes together and have that elusive perfect holster. Yeah right, just like the perfect gun I've purchased a couple of dozen times.

Craig,
Trying to figure out the right place & the right gun for that flapper.

Got it.
Can you build a flapper for a Smith & Wesson Heritage Model 22, 1917 version with round-butt grip? :)
