Hey everyone.

I'm looking for some night sight recommendations that offer a good balance of crisp accurate day and night use for a CCW Glock. (26 to be exact)

I've been looking around at a few such as TruGlo TFOs, Meprolights, the Trijicon HDs... And the Glock OEMs... It's to my understanding that Trijicon and Meprolight are the only makers of Tritium lamps and other manufactures use their units.

The TFOs are the only one I question for long term operation, it appears that they have an exposed tritium capsule that could possibly be damaged from cleaning or other situations such as possibly bumping it with something perhaps? The Meprolights I have read not only are enclosed like the Trijicons but they have the day paint encapsulated in the glass (or whatever material) that the tritium is in so no solvents can harm the day paint or tritium, is this correct?

Anyway what are some recommendations you guys might have?

I don't know about the details of other makers' sights, but I can vouch for Mepro. They are indeed the OEM night sights on new Glocks. I have a 26 with factory night sights, and I recently bought a new 19 and had aftermarket Mepros installed by my local gunsmith. The Mepros are identical to the OEM sights, except for green lettering on the right side of the rear sight that says "Tru Dot."

They work fine. I don't use anything stronger than Breakfree on the outside of the pistol, so I don't know how they would hold up to solvents.

I've been using Trijicon, Truglo, and Mepro on different Glocks for years. They all work about the same really, save the adjustable ones I have --they are just adjustable, that's all. As for cleaning, I haven't noticed any problems.

I like the Trijicon best for carry, they just seem cut right to me, don't snag and such. The adjustable night sights are my favorite though, on my G17L I get perfect tight groups and the POI is the POA.

I like ameriglos. I like the pro operator, if you want a little faster front sight I have the pro operator rears and a proglo front on my g19 and I like that setup a lot.

I have 4 Glocks, down from 5. Somehow I have always ended up purchasing new, without night sights and then sending the slides off to Glock for installation. The last time I did that was for two 36's, and Glock offered the choice of Trijicons or Meprolights. If I recall correctly, the Trijicons were a bit more expensive.

I own and use Trijicons, Meprolights and TruGlo TFO sights. I'm digging the TFO's, for the bonus of the fiber optic in the daytime.

As far as protection of the tritium ampule, I've never had a problem with any of them, but I know that Trijicon advertises their sapphire lens and silicone rubber cushion. Between the Trijicon and the Meprolights, the Trijicon seems sharper, at least to my eyes.

If you want to check out what we offer for your Glock 26:

Meprolight:

TruGlo:

I recommend spending the money for gunsmith installation. And except for rare instances, a gunsmith is NOT a brother-in-law or a friend-of-a-friend.

I have a meprolight front sight on my sp101 and stock adjustables on my kimber. Love them both. I CC my ruger and the sight works fine. Meprolight works for me and gets my vote.

I'll vote meprolights also...I have Trijicons on my SP101 and M&P that are very bright so I decided to get Meprolight for my XDm because they are the same lamps as Trijicon but at a cheaper price. I couldn't be happier... and they look identical to the Trijicons.
