I went to the Walmart in Bessemer today to pick up some WWB on the way to the range. The guy at the counter had an 870 open with a red $125 price tag! Some Walmarts are clearing out their in store stock and making some items special order only. If you're going to be at Wally World anyway, ask if there are any clearance items. You might just get lucky with something.

Stopped by Wally on the way out shooting today, and they had a Win 1300 20GA marked at $150!! The guy in front of me in line bought it. :(

I meant 'the guy' as in the customer ahead of me. When they were getting rid of them, the clerk said that people were buying several at a time!

At $125, I would have bought all they had!

WallyWorld also puts ammo and knives on clearance periodicly. While the wife shops, I wander over to sporting goods. You never know what they'll have. Recently found Hodgdon 777 for $9.00 a pound.

Depends on where the store is.

On the way to deer hunt, I stop at the WalMarts in Atoka and Mcalester Ok. and they have stuff we never see in Dallas.

I work in the Wal-Mart in Atoka in the sporting goods. I just bought a 30-06 from there today for $250. We have two of the Winchester 1300 for $150 although one is a youth. I probably have seen you.

I missed Mossberg 500s in short barrel form at that for $110 like 4-5 years ago. Got in a big fight with management over it. They tried to renig on the price, frantically trying in vain to peel off the price tag off the display in front of meafter I was told they could be ordered at that price!

Wow I didn't know walmart sold gun powder....

Oh yes, this is probably true depending on where in the US. All Walmarts differ in store policies from, not only state to state, but county to county. Here in NY where I live (Greater Rochester Area), powders or ammunitions could not be sold in drug stores. If I go up to the Watertown/Alex Bay area, there's no powder, but ammunition is readily available at any Eckerds. About 4
years ago when I was in the area, I went into an Eckerds drug store up there and purchased 100 rounds of UMC .223 55 gr. ammo.

Went to the local wal Mart and sure enough they have a sheet posted with guns they are clearing out, anywhere from $100 - 200 about 4 diff models

Every fall, right after black powder hunting season, Walmart starts marking down all their black powder stuff. Last year, I picked up a pound of Triple 7 FFg for $7. Right now, they have it marked down to $15 and Pyrodex to $9. I'm waiting for the Triple 7 to drop below $10 before I buy any and the Pyrodex to drop below $7. I have two stores I am checking every 3-5 days for mark-downs. They also have some other BP stuff I'm looking to buy, as the prices drop.

McKinney TX Walmart had Mossy 500, $100, and Utilimag 835 $125. Win 1300, $150. Weatherby 7mm $299 synthetic stock. I got the last Utilimag! :D

hmmm my friend works there I will have to ask her to take a look for me. I might just have to buy a gun.. <gasp> But at these prices I cant pass it up! :)

I'm going right after I get off work tomorrow.
My little brother's been putting off getting his own 870 claiming he's a poor college kid, and I need a Christmas present for him.

Or across town. Here in Pueblo CO (town of 100,000) the south side Wal-Mart carries shotgun reloading supplies, the north side one doesn't.

BTW, Sportsmans Warehouse beats them all hollow on component prices, and they carry a lot better selection.

Oh well, they sold out of the clearance shotguns over the weekend, and I'm not in the market for a deer rifle at the moment. :(

Man, there sure are some deals there. We don't have one nearby but I just might take a trip out to get something this good a deal.

If you're in Los Angeles, there are Walmarts in the area. You just might have to drive 20-30 mins for them. Either way, I don't remember seeing any guns at any So. Cal Walmarts. Just BB and Airsoft type stuff.

+1. At the end of last year's hunting season, I noticed that the Wally World by me had 777 marked down to $7 (normal price $19.95). I bought the last 8 bottles of FFg on the shelf, and promptly started driving around town to other locations. By the end of the day, I had 26 pounds of FFg 777, all at around one third the normal price. That's about a year's worth of powder for my cowboy action shooting needs (44-40 and 12 gauge), at $300 below retail.

I'm watching and waiting this year, too.
