Rhineland; for those that don't know but do care, makes a lot of neat stuff but the bit I've been interested in lately is their .45acp Mauser rifle conversions. Take a small ring or large ring bolt action mauser surplus rifle (like on that someone bubba'd and made look horrible so you've got an excuse) put their 160 dollar kit on it (with about 20 bucks in other parts being required) and you have a bolt gun that shoots .45acp from a 1911 mag. Neato right.
My problem has been that they've only been offering their tapered barrels and i wanted a heavy barrel for the heat soak capacity so I can plink and not get it as hot among other reasons.
I pinged them about that and they're going to offer untapered barrels now. Both large and small ring. 1" untapered. Just chambered and threaded. You'll have to inlet the stock for that but that easy.
the guys there said it was ok for me to spill the beans on that. Since I got most of the information I needed to decide to do the project from THR I decided I should at least let the THR family know.
Pic of my rifle:
Yeah it's not a good quality pic. You'll live.
Now to go roll up some trimmed .460 rowland loads and punch some jugs-o-water.
