I tend to load in groups of 1000 rounds at a time based on primer brick usage, and only one powder and tool head gets used at a time. I load until that lot is done, then take it all apart and figure out what I'll be loading next. Reminds me, I need more 357 bullets to finish out this lot.

Glad you caught it. As others said, no procedure is totally fool proof. I too have a single powder on the bench at a time and it stays along side the press to be a constant reminder of what I'm working with.

I only have one powder measure, and it gets emptied right back into the container the powder came from after each loading session. (I don’t leave any powder in the hopper after I am done.)

So far it’s worked out well, but one can never be too careful. Good eyes to spot that snafu!

Stay safe.

I decided to load up some 45 supers today. Cast some 200 grain powder coated (mostly) linotype bullets last night.

Broke out the Longshot and something didn't look right. I have no idea how or when this happened but it was a oh crap moment.

I dumped a 1/4 measure of blue dot into r22 once.
I think I did it subconsciously because I hate r22.

A friend dumped a measure worth of powder into the wrong caddy.
Varget vs 2520.
The extruded and ball powders were different enough grain size that we were able to separate them by screening. Worth a try, especially if you can borrow some Tyler testing sieves of different mesh sizes.
