A Bloke down the road asked if I could clean up some of the rabbits in his garden .So I took my son with me and after seeing a few in places where we couldn't get a safe shot off he had a crack at a couple of ones in full flight (not enough lead) before nailing one just before we finished a circuit of the property.

We headed back to the car and had a chat for 15 minutes or so and went for another lap as the light was fading and he picked up 3 more

Rabbits are an agricultural pest here and were in plague proportions here until mixo & calisi virus were introduced

The 12G he got for Christmas hopefully he'll have as much success busting clays with it

what other species do yall hunt there?

Foxes, goats, deer, pigs, roos, quail, ducks, geese, buffalo, crocs, etc these days you have to do a mountain of paper work to hunt some species Buffalo & crocs in the far north only

My son loves to go out at nite and get rabbits with the pellet rifle, he fills the freezer. Sadly this year has been to warm to hunt them. Although if we get another good freeze it's on! It's always wonderful to spend time enjoying your sport with your children.

That is a great photo. Sure wish I had a collectoin of "first" photos. At age 65, I still remember every detail of some of my firsts...squirrels, rabbits, coyotes. Encourage your son to photograph lots of his future hunts. One of my regrets in life is not taking more pics during hunting trips.
