How do you plan to blue it?
Psst. Fix your link please.

Kit revolvers seem to be blued but not finish polished, to have a smooth finish the blue they come with goes away.
I just worked on one of those "kits" for a friend, the timing was on but the bolt was head was never shaped to the cylinder and of course the arbor length needed to be shimmed, 72 thou. to set the wedge and barrel tight.

midland man

Years ago I built an 1861 Colt Navy kit for my brother; I think it was from CVA. The gun was relatively easy to assemble and was mechanically sound but I had trouble trying to cold blue it. Overall it when okay but there were always small areas where the bluing wouldn't go on right. So I took it to a local gunsmith and had him hot blue it. Turned out looking great.

midland man,
I know how you feel , with the Brown truck coming today and all.
I was waiting for my own Brown truck yesterday, now on a normal day I would see that sucker drive by around 10-11 in the morning so I was waiting and waiting and then at 5.15pm here it came up the drive and all of a sudden all my "internal cussing" vanished and the good fella handed me my first 1858 NMA .
I get to play today.
Congats on your new "toy" , today is a big day..

PS Cold rust blue might look good

yeah I am itching to see this gun and well the ups truck is always late around here normally around 3-9pm at night yeah i've had them be that late before! anyway the excitement is own!! :)

heres the kit but

I had already done the grips which were very rough and cut out with a 3d printer! plus the brass was very raw still in cast before I started on this! been a alot of work since it arrived :)
