SP101 and S&W J-frame share holsters?

Can a ruger SP101 and an S&W J-frame share the same holsters? I know the ruger is meatier than the S&W but being short barreled 5 shot revolvers I'd imagine they'd fit in at least some of the same holsters.

So anyone here have both?

I have both and they do fit each others holsters,but the SP101 is a little tight in the J frame holster.And the J frame is slightly loose in the SP101 holster.

It depends on how well (tightly) fitted the holster is. Sparks, Rosen, etc. -- probably not.

Having owned both short-barrel SP-101's and J-frames, I can say that generally speaking, a tightly boned or fitted leather holster or any kydex holster will not be interchangeable. Sometimes the nylon or the looser fit leather holsters will be interchangeable.

Mill Creek got it right.

The Ruger would be a closer fit in a Colt D-frame holster.
Look for one made for a 2½" Diamondback.

Desantis makes holsters for the sp....I like the thumb break scabbard as opposed to the high ride......I can jam my sp into a j frame desantis high ride if I loosten the tension screw all the way....but the one specifically for the sp is better.A k-frame holster will work better for an SP although it will flop around a little....
