Hey guys - looking for some quick help - been wanting an SP101 for a while and have a chance at an SP101 package including:

-SP101 2" DA/SA with older wood inlay grips - very good to excellent condition
-Hogue monogrip in addition to factory grips
-Galco OWB holster
-1 Speedloader

All this for $400 out the door.

Should I jump on this? I wanted a 3", but I think this might just be too good a deal to pass up... these guys hold value well right? Have a 4" 686+ pre lock already, but wanted a smaller revolver for short hikes for my wife and 38 special plinking - after research seemed like the SP101 is the best option....

Thanks in advance for the help!

@627 - Haha I think you might be right - I think its the accessories that really make this deal considering they are probably worth $60 alone.

Thanks!

I've never heard of an SP101 needing a trip back to Ruger for much of anything. But, I agree with the 3" SP101 fans (Me too!). It's not a "too-good-to-pass-up" deal but not a "are-you-KIDDING?" deal either.

Thank you guys for the responses!

I got the guy to go down to $365 for the sp101 and all the goodies - I think I am going to JUMP on that tonight...

Thanks!!

Yup , $365 is a good deal! Especially considering the package with the wood inlaid grips. That's what my Lipsey's model has, along with the 'target grey' finish. Much better looking than the standard SS, IMO. The $400 deal wasn't bad, either, but you done good!;) I suppose he threw in 2 boxes of ammo, too?????? The SP101s hold their value pretty darn well.
The others are right tho, once you get 1, you'll be looking for another barrel length, caliber, etc....:D
I just had to beat myself into submission to keep from jumping on a 3" .32 mag, and I'm still thinking I should have bought it! Problem is, when the wife saw it, she probably would have stolen it, then I'd need another 1! It's a vicious circle.....

$365.. good deal. dont worry about holding value.. the sp101 is a gun you arent going to want to sell. most people that do sell theirs end up regretting it. (unless it is a forced sell due to financial burdens.) good luck and congratulations. you are going to love it. put a meprolight night site on that hot rod and go to town.

Thank you very much guys for the continued goading and... I jumped :)

Picked her up and its just awesome!!! Basically brand new and the Galco OWB sheath is perfect - just such a gorgeous piece and I cant wait to shoot it tomorrow and then see if I want to add on the hogues...

Taking a look at my other guns, I'm glad about the 2" as I have a 686+ in 4" so this gives me some nice .357 variability. Love the look of the 2" too. I cant put this thing down since I got back home!!!

And you guys are right about the SP addiction - this beauty has convinced me to pick up the SP101 in .22LR over the S&W 617 as soon as I can get one at a good price...

TrailWolf,

Congrats! I got one about 2 months ago, love it. I took it to a good smith close to my house, had him do an action job on it, smoothed the hammer, trigger, new springs..... AWESOME ! The DA shoots better now than the SA did when I first got it. Wearing mine in a pancake holster, never know its there all day, sitting on the couch, or driving the car. Good luck!
