Hello all,

i'm going to be purchasing a .357 Ruger sp101 3" rather soon and am wondering which laser grips i should get.

The 'regular'

or the 'defender' series

it seems that the defender series grips are slightly shorter. does anyone know how much shorter?

i'm concerned about
1) concealability (small of the back, IWB)
2) recoil manageability

SP101 Crimson Trace models

Kind of wondering the same thing . I have the SP101 in 357 and .22 The first model is a lot cheaper then the newer model which I think it is the 333 . If anyone has tried both would appreciate hearing what you think of them . Thanks

I have a set of the "old" model grips and medium sized hands and they fit me great. I've been using them for 3 years now on my SP 101 and haven't had any change in zero after removal for cleaning. I personally wouldn't hesitate recommending any of the products listed.

I can't answer your question exactly, but I do know that the SP101's grip frame isn't as small as a smith j-frame. Even with the relatively petite factory grips, I can wrap my pinky around the bottom, and I have size medium hands.

If I were buying a CT grip for my SP, I'd pick up the more compact ones if I planned on using it as my carry gun, but I'd choose the longer grips if I were using it mostly at the range.
