A few weeks ago I sent a few bullets to Dudedog in exchange for a RMR 147gr target bullets. That was the agreement.

What I received in exchange was the RMR 147gr target bullets, and a surprise of RMR 230gr RN hardccore thick plate, Hornady 125 gr HAP, MBC 149gr coated cone, MBC 125gr SWC's and RMR 100gr RNFP bullets. This was very generous from Dudedog.

A week later I finally tested the 147gr RMR traget bullets in 357sig, but did not see the expected accuracy I was looking for. This was not a big deal since I was trying these 147gr's out in 357sig instead of the intended 9mm.

Fast forward to today.

Today I received another surprise package from Dudedog. Included in the package was some more RMR 147gr target bullet for me to try in 357sig. In addition Dudedog also sent some coated 158gr MBC's sized to .356, some more coated MBC 125gr SWC's, and some beautiful Nosler sporting handgun 124gr JHP's.

This is truly Christmas coming early with this generosity from Dudedog. I just want everybody to take notice of this stand-up member of THR. I think Dudedog personifies the generosity shown by members of the THR community.

Getting back to the Nosler beauties I received. These are definitely earmarked for my 357sig.

The first think I did was took some measurements to make sure the bullet shape will work with 357sig and calculated a possible COL. Based on my calculations it seems I could load it at 1.125" or 1.135". I then found some Nosler load data where they listed 1.120" as the COL. So it seems the 1.125" will work fine.

I then loaded up a dummy round and put it through my cycle and bathroom scale test. My final COL was 1.122", and after 4 cycles the COL was still 1.122". This is the first 357sig bullet I tested with no setback at all.

After the cycling test I did the bathroom scale test. This test is where I push it and hold it for about 5 seconds until the digital bathroom scales registers the weight. This test pushed 29lbs without any issues.

These Nosler's will be good to go. Now I just need to decide on a load. Based on the available and my load data, it looks like it is going to be either Unique or Power Pistol.

Thanks again to Dudedog for the generosity and a Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all THR forum members.

Dudedog, Thank you, thank you, thank you, You got the PIF thing in your sights (+) I just got the box you sent me, what surprise :) it's like you knew what I wanted!!

Thank you CC

Your welcome clearcut,:)
Hope something in the box works out well for you.
I really like the RMR 9mm 124 FNs.

Dude dog I just loaded some of the RMR 230.45's I need to burn up some 9's so I can try the 124 fn's.:) what are you putting under them?
Thanks again!
CC

My favorite for .45 ACP is a tie between 4.7 and 5gr of HP38. Both shoot about the same for me 4.7 is softer.
I have some PROMO that I got from BDS a while back. 4gr of Promo also shoots well.
Somewhere I have some chrono numbers for the .45 230gr HP38 loads, I will try to dig them up. (not where I thought I had them when I just looked :banghead:)
For the RMR 124 FNs my favorite is 4.3gr of WSF, a mid range load about 1020 fps.
I also had great results with 4gr, 4.2 and 4.4gr of HP38, the difference between the HP38 loads was to close to call. 4.2 of HP38 was about 1030fps.
4.8gr of CFE-P also shot well. That load ran about 1060fps.

I currently have Bullseye, BE86, CFE-Pistol, HP38, Promo, Titegroup, Universal, WSF and ZIP. (I haven't loaded with the ZIP before, new powder for me)
If you don't have a chrono and you are using on of these let me know and I can load up some and chrono for you.
I have loaded the FNs as short as 1.065 which my 1911 prefers, but my other guns seem to like 1.09-1.10 better so I compromised on that OAL.
I think I am going to do re-test between 1.065 and 1.09 to verify previous results.
