Picked up a very nice 2.75" barreled Speed Six the other day. I carry a G26 or G19 daily, but couldn't pass this gem up for the price.

I'm looking for a OWB leather holster that I can get on and off quickly. No thumb break. My plan is to carry the Six around the ranch, but that may also include quick trips to civilization from time to time, so some level of concealment will be a requirement. I would also like the option of basket stamping, but if that means waiting for ions for a holster I'm fine with off the rack too.

Suggestions? Pics?

During your quest for holsters I find my 2 3/4 Speed Six fits nicely in all my holsters for my 2 1/2 Model 66. The only K frame holsters that will not work for the Ruger to my experience are security type holsters. DeSantis Speed Scabbard, Bianchi thumb break, Galco Miami Classic, all work well with either revolver.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll fish through the holster piles at the next gun show and see what I can come up with.

So I ordered an inexpensive belt slide from Winthrop http://www.ebay.com/itm/Belt-Slide-Ambidextrous-Revolver-Brown-Leather-Holster-Item-0641-/200984750121?hash=item2ecb9fe829. I'll use it while I'm waiting for a nice holster.

I looked at El Paso, Lobo and Simply Rugged and was leaning towards the Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake, which gives the option for crossdraw carry, but the holster really doesn't look all that nice when basket stamped. I also started thinking about going with a thumb break for security jumping in and out of my tractor and track loader, and on and off the horses. Once again, the search started.

El Paso and Lobo make beautiful thumb break holsters, but during my search I ran across CraigC's photo of his El Paso Street Combat...:what:http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=9488223&postcount=98. Hard on the brakes, left turn...the whole shebang. I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering an ElPaso Tortilla. I may even go with floral carving, dyed background and a matching belt...or possibly come back to my senses and order a basket weaved combo. As you can tell, I still don't know what I want! :D

El Paso makes great stuff and customer service is outstanding. I had a double gun rig for SASS. Lining on one of the holsters started to delaminate. I stopped by the EP booth at a regional shoot. They replaced not just the damaged holsters, but both (so they'll match, he said) and let me keep both the old ones.

It can take 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Sanity prevailed, and I decided to go with the holster offering better coverage to protect the Speed Six. Here's the Sourdough Pancake with 1.5" loops from Simply Rugged along with a new belt from Aker. Not shown is a nice matching belt pouch/speed strip carrier. Order to door from SR was just short of three weeks. The Sourdough spreads out the weight nicely.

A special thanks to fellow member, Maddog for hooking me up with a pair of NOS Tyler T-Grips from another site.
