Speer 38 special vs 9mm

FWIW, I will add that I've owned 2 different snubbie sized 9mm revolvers. Both had significant;y more felt recoil than their 38 special counterparts. (Not unmanageable but notable) Both suffered from deminished accuracy as compared to the 38 as well.

Tacoma, I agree with you sir about 9MM recoil in these little revolvers. There is just no free lunch. The more energetic 9MM does recoil more than 38 Spcl. +P in guns of similar size and weight. I haven't been able to determine any difference in accuracy between my particular .38 and 9MM revolvers, but with a different shooter, using different guns and ammo, there certainly could be a difference.

Let us make it very simple for our memebrs, yes? Revolver .38Spl Pistol 9mm Lurger. Does that help you?

Bullet choice is a consideration when choosing between revolver and pistol
38 special will shoot soft points, hollow points, cast bullets. If using a 38 special, like the 200 grain cast bullet, it thumps everything.
The 9mm has the advantage of more shots in reserve. It will use bullets with a rounded profile. Jamming was a big problem years ago.
Guess it depends on what generation, you came from. Older guys(me)will probably gravitate to the revolver. Hard to use anything but revolver, after seeing every western on tv for years. Imagine marshall dillon walking out and drawing a 9mm in the street or the lone ranger shooting his silver bullets in a pistol platform.
