I love the accuracy of my Deep Curl bullet but most of my rifles are mild cartridges and Deep Curl bullets only come in heavy for caliber weights. I have seen Deep Curls tested at high speed (2600-2800fps) but not at lower speeds where my 308, 6.5x55, and 7mm-08 would be hitting in the real world (1800-2400fps) are the Deep Curls a versatile low speed killer like the Partition/Interlock or are they too "hard" to give clean kills on thin skinned game at low speed like the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw/Swift A-Frame?
I tried contacting Speer about this, but as you would expect their response was as generic and vague as humanly possible.
Anyone have any experience with these bullets?

Most bullets will reliably expand to at least double caliber down into the 1800'ish feet per second range. That said some will only do this around 2000fps.

Either way the only REAL way to find out is to set up your chrony and some sort of media and try them out.

I had the same issues when I was working up loads for my 14" Contender in 7x30 Waters. There are a great number of bullets out there which work fine at rifle velocities, but the best I could get was mid 2200's with the 140gr bullets I was wanting to use.

Since I was looking to be hunting at ranges between 50 and 200yds I wanted something that would expand reliably at the furtherest distance, and hold together up close. In my testing the Nosler 140gr Ballistic Tip won out in both accuracy and expansion down to around 1800fps. I had to use some starting load data and set up my chrony at around 180'ish yards to find the area to set up the water jugs at, but they worked and worked fine. I didn't get the deer I went after but I put a bunch of hogs down in testing before and after that particular hunt.

Hope this helps.
