Spoke too soon about Sig Sauer's warranty...

It would "appear" that someone connected with SIG actually read this thread, and realized that myself and many others that had considered Sigs have re-evaluated their desires.
I'm bummed, I had hoped a P220 was in my immediate future. Now I have to find an older one to buy used. I had shot one once at an indoor range, and was amazed at how easy it was to shoot, and how accurate. Plus, it fit my hand like a glove. That goes a long way with me.
However, after a "mis-adventure" with S&W on a warranty repair, (came back un-repaired, had to do it myself), I'm leery of anything that will create a new career of calls, emails etc. I have a day job.

I wrote a letter to Sig earlier this week about my woes and asked them to make it right. I got a call while at the grocery store from the head of CS at Sig! He asked me to send in my gun and said he wanted to make this right. He will install front and rear night sights for me, shipping covered both ways.

He said my case must have slipped through the cracks and apologized many times for the headache. To get my gun most of the way back to original has taken me several months, many emails, phone calls, and a letter. This has of course been a pain, but it looks like they want to make it better. I'll let you know how everything turns out when I get the gun back.
...

Yep, a nice, non-threatening letter, just the facts, presented in a caring, "I need someone's help in resolving this matter", adult, letter (makes its way) to the right person/people in charge, (touches their senses to your loss/disappointment) and gets to "someone" that can make immediate decisions, based on true feelings they can feel, identify with, in such matters that they/he/Sig wants too, and will, make it right.. asap (top priority now)

Trust me, I slipped thru the cracks with Beretta, nearly 7 months to get my warranted gun either fixed, which is all I wanted, or a NIB replacement gun.. I sent my gun with added night sights, D spring, Hogue slip on sleeve, and SS guide rod and made note of all this in 3 copied, typed, letters, sent-in with the gun.. And had the 4th copy here at home.

You have received a much more timely, "concerned" response, time wise, and "human contact via phone call", than I ever did, until I just quit saying anything positive about a Px4 40 in the Beretta forum, and here, etc., and finally after some, rather, harsh words, during the 6th month "no responses from BUSA" in the Beretta forum, the Administrator PM'd me, asked for details, said letter sent in, and 3 weeks later I got my NIB gun with my night sights, SS guide rod, D spring and Hogue grip on the new gun..

And they sent me a hat.. no letter, no apology, it sucked.. nearly 7 months later. Talk about a drain on one's self.. good grief

You, on the other hand, have been "heard" and with just cause, and don't be surprised if they send you something a bit better than "a hat"

Keep your faith in Sig.. they do care unlike others that consider falling thru the cracks on-par and quite normal.. Sig does not as you now have found out thru your efforts and some kind input by many responders in this thread..

Well done all,

Ls

Got my Sig back today! It came with night sights and a metal guide rod! A free magazine was thrown in as well. It didn't come with a solid trigger or my original grips, but I'll call that a wash on account of the complimentary magazine.

I am satisfied with the gun and will keep it. I am still bummed at Sig Sauer because it took me 4 months and a lot of headaches to get back to square one. The very fast and professional service of the current CS rep I've been dealing with did lead me to believe I am a flyer in this situation. I will probably not buy another Sig for a while, perhaps forever, because of this. Their guns simply cost too much to have the risk of this happening if I ever have to activate the warranty again.

Thank you for those of you who had kind and encouraging words.
