To any SIG Sauer owners out there. This is the big thing on SIGForum right now. Member "Steve226" on SIGForum has been making these guide rods, and the members just keep exhausting the supply. I bought one for sheer curiousity, plus the hole in the hollow guide rod looks cheap. I admit, I bought it mainly for the coolness factor :D

Here is the thread to contact him

The information for the guide rod.

These guide rods are slightly heavier than the stock hollow guide rods. They work perfectly in my gun, and Steve was first class to deal with. He send the product out THE SAME DAY I sent in my payment. I received the guide rod in 2 days after emailing him my interest!

So I figured I'd share how they are on my German SIG P226...

Thanks for reading :)

+1 for steve and his guide rods :)

i have 3 of them for my p226, p228, and p229 and i am very happy with them :) now i just gotta upgrade to the tungsten ones ;)

SiGarms is also selling solid stainless guide rods. Their SiG store on their site lists them. I bought 2 and they do add weight to that front end. Of course the last thing my P226ST needs is weight! They are nice and being sold by SiG means no warranty issues. I'm sure the private seller's rods are acceptable too.

Steve is great to deal with. I bought some tungsten guide rods and am very pleased with them.

Black Majik - that's a beautiful P226. I wish mine looked so "dry". What type of barrel do you have in it? I've never seen one that looks all stainless. Either that or you've got the biggest smilie on your barrel I've ever seen.:what: :D

I bought a steel guide rod for my P229 from Steve and I'm extremely pleased. Now all he has to do is start making them for other guns. :D

Thanks Bluto, The barrel is actually factory, polished by me when I was bored one night... :D

Black Majik - Wow! What did you use to polish it?

I see you're just up the road in O.C. We'll have to see if we can get together some time and shoot.

Hey Bluto, not a problem. Check the Rally Point and look for our SGVGC thread. Its hard to miss since its around 30+ pages long right now. I'm always at those meets, or I'm shooting USPSA matches at Raahauges in Norco if you're ever interested. All the Socal activities are in that thread.

Happy shooting! :)
