i have not been shooting sporting clays to long and have had a hard time of it(trouble seeing them). today i took a browning citori 12ga 26" barrel to shoot. and after reading about chokes and shot size on here and an other shotgun sites,i took federal walmart 1-1/8 oz #8 shot shells and used IP-CYL in the top barrel and skeet.725 on the bottom and did the best i ever did(41),my best before was (37). so thanks to you all, eastbank.

Been a while since I shot sporting clays with regularity but in general most guys over choke. I shoot improved cylinder on doves and do well. Plus Brownings are "the best there is"

I went the other day and had fun but shot really bad.

I went 17/25 with the 11-87 20g and 18/25 with the 1100 20g.

The range was crowded and a storm was rolling through the mountains so they were rushing us but still no excuse, I sucked!

i look at it this way, if i,m having fun thats my end game. if you keep getting better while having fun you are a winner. eastbank.

Most of the sporting courses around here rarely need more than an Imp-Cyl choke. That and skeet choke are my set chokes, then I juggle different size shot for different targets, close crossers #9's, 8's or 8.5's on mid targets and 7.5's on farther targets. I reload different size shot in different types of shells so I don't get too confused.

I have been pretty successful with my 725 Hi Rib Sporting using Muller #2/U, and #3/O. On 25/35 yd targets I put a #1 in the Under barrel. The Muller chokes patterned in my gun much better than the factory chokes. I shoot 7.5 one oz loads on everything. The beautiful thing about Clays is that every course has unique presentations and landscape. You can never get too comfortable.

A bad day at the range is better than a good day on the couch. Busting clays is about as fun as it gets.
