I plan on going to shoot my Remington 710 (I KNOW.. I KNOW..) at an indoor 100-yd range soon. The range does a string of fire for 30 minutes, and then calls cease fire for everyone to go check their targets.

I've been there once before and the problem is I cant really see my impacts from 100 yds away through the rifle scope.. so I cant really make any adjustments until I they call cease fire and I can go see the target.

I'm thinking about picking this spotting scope so I can see downrange http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4404141

Will this work? Is there any cheaper solution you'd reccomend?

I have that exact scope.
You can see 30 cal holes at 100y, at least in good light. It isn't a very good scope, but the tripod is sturdy, the case is nice, and the price is right. It does not have very long eye relief, so if you wear glasses, you lose some of your field of vision.
I have not tried it further than 100y.
Most will recommend a better scope, and I'm sure they're right, but at 50 and 100y, this little guy is OK.

Check ebay for Burris scopes and you will find quite a few 20x spotting scopes for very inexpensive prices. That spotting scope will be perfect for your use.
