I'm looking at buying a Springfield 1903 Mark 1 (w/0 the Pedersen device). The receiver is dated to 1919 but it was rebarreled in 1944. It also has a CMP stock. Condition is about 75-80% as a result. I know what Blue Book says about the value of an all-authentic rifle, but was wondering what others with more experience with these rifles might think it is worth?

I don't know the current dollar value, but with all those changes, I don't think the markings and ejection port add a lot of value.
Mine appears to be period original except for the stamped magazine follower. Which is sometimes smoother feeding than milled.

Basically all it is now is a high number Springfield shooter. I would place a value of $500-600 on it.

Last year I picked up a perfect, original MkI for $800, which I admit was a smokin' deal.

The Pedersen Device will run you another 50 grand or so. No ammo for 'em anyway.
Most, if not all, Mk I's were returned to standard configuration after W.W.I. Like highpower says, you have a nice shooter('03's tend to shoot really well too), but not a high value collector rifle.
The Blue Book gives average prices from all over the U.S. with no regard for local supply and demand. It's ok for ball park values, but you're better to look at the assorted auction sites.

Thanks for your responses..I've decided to pass on the opportunity, but am still interested in a 1903 in the future.

If you really WANT a Pederson Device, RIA Company has one for sale in the Dec. Auction. I think it was estimated at 30-50 thousand. It has extra mags and accessories. Probably better set aside the higher figure!
