Hello,

Can anyone tell me anything about the Springfield Model 67 shotgun manufactured by Savage Arms. I have a relative who gave one to me to look into selling it for her. I've used it and like it but know little about it. The particular model I have is a 20 guage. I like the maple stock and the overall look and function of the gun. I see on Gun Broker that they aren't going for very much, but the one I have is in very nice shape.

How is their reputation? Anybody own/shoot one? Any info appreciated.

i had one. bought for 60 bucks, it was beat to hell but worked flawlessly. it was a pretty good gun and had no recoil compared to my other pump shotguns. mine was a 67h

There's been a few threads on the Stevens/Savage/Springfield Model 67. If I recall, Stevens made this model to be sold under some other brand names also. Basic utility shotgun. It works. Sometimes they break. Then you have a dilemma of whether its worth it to repair it. Sell it for $150 and don't look back, or buy it and shoot it if you want a basic pump.

Like the people above said...it's a cheapo. Both my father AND my father-in-law have these shotguns.

My father has the 67F I believe and my father-in-law has the 67H ( I think).

On my fathers, he bought it used for $50, the wooden pump handle broke so that he now has to manually grab the metal piece that was supposed to attach to the pump and cycle it himself.

On my father-in-laws, he got it from his father and it is ok...dove hunting last week he had a failure to eject every other shot.

I'd say sell it for $100 and forget about it.

They are cheap.

I did a search and turned up some some pretty good info. Seems like everything said here is the consensus elsewhere. Thanks all for the info.
