I just wanted to let everyone know my brief experience with SA's customer
service.

I called them yesterday as well as e-mailed them the night before asking some
questions about my V-16 .45 Super. I was not too hopeful as it is a discontinued
model and figured it would take some time to get some if any information.

The e-mail response time was about 12 hours and answered the questions I asked.
While on the phone I was able to get all my questions answered in a friendly
and prompt maner. She told me which spring weight I needed to shoot the .45
Super ammo as well as what the MFG dates were for mine. She was also able
to give me some information on the history of the V-16 and V-16 .45 Super models.

Each time she answered a question I thought of another and she either knew
the answer, looked it up, or asked some one and still stayed cheery and polite.
I think I kept her on for 20+ mins.

I have been in customer service for a long time (phone, e-mail, and chat based)
and am over 2 support teams so CS is very important to me.

I hear a lot of bad customer service stories and just wanted to share a good one.

Glad yours went ok....my only experience with them started out good. Then on the last question I submitted via email to Debbie around the holidays, I waited a few days and never heard anything. I've yet to get a reply and it's been close to 2 months. I gave up and found somebody to help me figure out my 1911 problem. Now she runs fine.

This is why Im looking into Springfield Armory for a 1911.

I had an extractor problem with my M1A and at first I was kinda bummed that I spent so much and the rifle had a problem, but they fixed it quickly and it's worked great ever since.

I've heard stories of people sending guns back to SA after years and years of use and getting them fixed without any hassle.

Great warranty and customer service!

I never miss a chance to talk them up too. They are nice folks to deal with and, while they don't advertise that they like to do so, have twice helped me out in person at their HQ in Genesseo, IL with repairs to my (original) GI Garand and SA .45.

Both times they fixed my gear while a waited without an appointment.
And it wasn't a weapon they made.

loki.fish, did you try resending the request? I know you already got the
problem fixed but they just may have not received that request. I have
had it happen at work even why replying to an already successful e-mail
chain.

I have a new manufacture M1 garand that I bought from them, while cleaning it one day the follower came of the guide, when I tride to clamp it back on, it broke in 2, Called springfield and they sent me a new one free of charge, I also go it within 2 weeks.

I also bought a 1911 GI from them, I heard that some have problems with the ramp needing polishing, sure enough thats what I needed, sent if off and got it back IN 3 DAYS!!!! thats why I am a Springfield customer for life now

My experience with them sucked. We ordered a BUNCH of guns from them and they have just started to deliver. Every time we call we get another excuse from them or from the distributor we were forced to use.

There are plenty of 1911's and poly framed guns out there in the same price point that are just as good if not better. I am done with SA.

Some years ago my M1A started doubling. I had had it oh, maybe five years and there was no warranty. I sent it back to them anyway, through the dealer I bought it from.

Two days later, Springfield filed for bankruptcy.

About three weeks later, the rifle came back. Springfield had replaced the trigger assembly at no charge for the parts, work or shipping. There was a note in the box thanking me for my business. The note went on, " We
noticed a hairline crack in your stock. We have replaced the stock and rebedded the action at no charge."

I'd buy from Springfield again in a heartbeat.

Oh, they also replaced my out-of-warranty 'scope at no charge another time.

I have to say my experience through the years with Springfield Armory has been positive.
Other than needing information, none of the 1911 pistols or M1A rifles I have purchased have needed any work on them at all.
I just finished cleaning a new (to me) 1911 A1 "Loaded" that I bought from my Brother in Law. He purchased it in 2000, but never shot it.
I took it to the farm yesterday, and put several hundred rounds of ball and HP ammo through it. Nary a hiccup. Ran like a sewing machine. I did have to adjust the Novak sights, but other than that, it was perfect. Another honest 2 inch /25 yard Springfield 1911 A1. Sure looks good with that OD green finish too. :D

SA Great Customer Service

With my purchase of an M1A from SA a while back I noticed a small hairline crack in the stock where the Auto/semi-auto switch was filled, just above the trigger group. I also wanted a factory installed QD stud to accomodate a Harris Bi-pod. The stock was Fed Ex'ed on Monday And I got a new stock with QD Stud back Thursday.

I think the Customer service is Terrific, friendly, and knoweledgable.

I'd buy again and again for just that reason.

A main consideration of my firearms purchases is the customer service factor. That's why I stick with SA, S&W, Glock. The only company I've bought from who's Customer Services has been questionable is Kimber. I have found the rep's to be rude. Maybe it's a New York thing. They do make excellent firearms. I hope I never have the need to contact them.
