How viable would converting a 40 cal Springfield EMP to 357 Sig? Would the Springfield Custom Shop take on this work, and how reliable would it be? Would it be cost prohibitive? Would it be better to attempt with a Hi-Power?

IMO: It would be better to buy another gun in .357 SIG.

Springfield would not touch it.

And IMO, the .40 Browning HP is an admonition.

Plus anyone who would convert a EMP will cost you more then another gun.

Gotta find someone to make the barrel. I do not know anyone who makes one currently. Most of the time a 40 S&W to .357 Sig is not a problem dimensionally.

STI makes a full size 40 cal 1911. Maybe I could try that...but not sure who to use if Springfield won't make it.

Glock still makes a .357 SIG.

But what do you envision the .357 SIG doing that the .40 S&W won't do as well or better??

Except being harder to reload, with a limited number of bullet choices that will seat to the right length without the ogive being inside the case mouth??
