I’m considering buying a new Springfield GI 1911 in stainless steel. The price at a local shop is pretty good and I like the looks of the gun. It would be primarily used as a plinker, but I want it to be reliable so that I could use it for self defense in a pinch.
I looked at some other stainless guns, and I must say that I prefer simple, full-sized guns without the foreword slide serrations. Also, I don’t like the use of cheap plastic parts on the Kimbers. If I’m going to spend my hard earned dollars on a gun, I don’t want cheap plastic on it.
How are the Springfield stainless pieces?
