SA GI vs Colt Series 80
My Springfield GI is parked, not stainless, but it is a good quality gun and with acceptible accuracy. I changed a few parts on it because I wanted it to look more "authentic" not because it needed it.
OP asked how a Colt Series 80 might compare to SAGI; mine is a good looker (IMO) but was the worst shooting 1911 I had ever owned until I fit an Ed Brown bushing to it. Now it will at least keep all shots on a pie plate at 25 yards. With the original (loose bushing to barrel and to slide fit) bushing I couldn't keep a full magazine on a pie plate at 15 yards.
I like them both, but if I had to choose, I would choose the Colt.
Also, all of my guns are shooters, you can tell by the wear on the Colt grips; I have since replaced them with these off of a newer Gold Cup.
