Now I definitely don't want to start a brand war but just would like to make a couple of observations between the mco that I just picked up and some comparable Colt 1911s. The mco looks to be a well built 1911 in that price range. I have acquired a couple of Colts at this price point also recently. The mco seems to not suffer from the squishy thumb safety override that the Colts consistently seem to have. This would include the rail gun and a couple of lightweight commanders both in 45 acp and 38 super that I own. Also the mco has a heavy but ZERO creep trigger which most Colts have creep, some a little, some a lot. I can deal with a heavy 1911 trigger as long as it doesn't exhibit creep. I see this as unacceptable in a gun that lists at a $1000 or more. I have experience with much less expensive 1911s which have no creep and generally have a better trigger than a Colt. I can say that I'm no fanboy of either Colt or Springfield and like them both. I can also add that I deeply resent the ils on the Springfield and the rear of the extractor stands a little proud of the rear of the slide. But the fitment is fairly equal. The Springfield just seems a little better put together. jmo.

No doubt Springfield builds some good 1911-pattern pistols for the money.

I have two Loaded models; one is simply a parkerized version, the other, a recently-acquired MC Operator. They both shoot better than I do!
