Dammit Marko, you're making things really hard for me:banghead:

ALA Dan- I would have bought it yesterday, but I'm waiting on my yearly bonus check that comes in on the middle of Feb.:D

You could always just get a cheap ol' Griffon for $350 or so. Comes complete with night sights, extended slide release, etc etc. Two main problems with mine that I'm still resolving:

1. The previous owner of mine (yes, I bought it used) must have beat the poor thing around. The sights keep trying to pop off during range sessions. Fixable, will be fixed this weekend.

2. The guide rod decided it wanted to become a two-piece. Made it very interesting to disassemble until I understood what was happening. I've since replaced the guide rod and those problems have vanished. So long as the sights stay on and I do my part, it'll make one hole at 25 feet. Eventually. But it might be a large hole.

The best part is after owning a Griffon you'll be able to fully appreciate the higher-end 1911's. :)

If I buy a Mil Spec it'll be a Colt. I saw one in a shop recently in the mid $400's and compared it to the Kimber. I'd take the Kimber over the S&W; the mods I'd have done would make the Schwartz safety moot.
