Anyone have any experience with this gun. It is the utra compact in 9mm. Looks real nice. I have a stable of full size nines and this looked interesting.

I had one looks and shoots nice sold it off for a big loss. It did everything fine except did not cycle +p ammo. And it was my ideal carry gun but I have always used +p. Not a big market for the gun I had to pay too much for it and sell it for nothing.
The next nine compact I get in a 1911 type will be a STI VIP.

Mine took some work on the integral ramp to make it a Feed ramp for JHPs. It now functions reliably and shoots well. I don't use +P and can't comment on Tac's.

If this helps.....
The book that came with the gun said "not to use +p ammo" and when I spoke with Springfield they said it was due to the slide cycle rate, the new ones are suppossed to have a dual spring set up mine did not. The web site did not list this and when I asked Springfield about the gun before buying it they failed to mention it. They said they would look into putting it on the site, I see they did not.

Mine feed FP and JHP's fine, just didn't like +p wish they would have told me before I spent $742 on the gun. Gun owners are not very forgiving. I will not buy another just because of the way they handled my deal on the phone.

Jim does your gun have the single or dual spring set up and does it say in the manual not to use +p ammo.

Tacblac

Mine has a single recoil spring, and the generic SA manual says: "1911A1 Ultra Compact Pistols are designed to use standard pressure ball ammo and self defense loads. +P ammunition is not recommended in pistols shorter than 5 inches."
