As I mentioned in another thread, I am going to be picking up a new carry pistol in the next few weeks.
So far I have considered 1911s ( which I like), Glocks, Kahrs (don't fit my hand), HKs (I dream of the P7M8), CZs, Baby Eagles, Ruger Sp101s, Steyr M9 and the XD series.
I checked out another XD today, price was good, fits my hand well, I like the trigger and the safety designs and the sights.
My only real concern was the width. I carry IWB under tucked in shirts. Right now I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 in a shirttucker. Is the XD too thick for tucked in carry?
Also, I checked out the subcompact XD, which actually fit my hand. I was amazed at that, since most small pistols don't fit my hand well, like the Glock 26.
Right now I am still conflicted between the XD and a Milspec 1911, but I am starting to lean towards the XD for reliablity concerns, and for the lower price of 9mm ammo, so I can practice more.
Thanks.
