Springfield XD-9mm vs CZ 75 9mm

I love gun polls.

They're both excellent guns with loyal followings, but which one would you go for and why?

Specifically, I'm comparing at these...

The Springfield XD-9mm

or

The CZ75 9mm?

I like the CZ. More compact than the XD if somewhat heavier. I also think it's sturdier than the XD.

Get that one. It's a mild shooting 9mm with more capacity than the XD (more capacity than Glocks too). Barrel is longer, accuracy is great, and I'd buy one....oh wait, I did. Even traded in a XD45Tactical towards it (and a DW Pointman7).

The CZ. I don't like the XD trigger, and the XD's takedown lever is right where my thumb is in a thumbs-forward grip. So shooting with it goes BANG-ow! BANG-ow!

i would go with the xd, i have had great experiences with all the sa weapons i have owned, fired or used. i have no complaints. i own 2 xd's and i am sure that i will own more xd's, i will definetly buy a 1911 and an m1a i dig thier xd line-up along with all the other guns offer. i trust them.

I can't really speak about the xd, having never really had experience other than one nice fellow who let me throw some out of his, but the cz is an amazing firearm. if you want it for carry I might go with the PCR. accurate, easy to conceal and a heck of alot of fun to shoot. the feel of the cz in your hand is like no other.

I voted CZ. I have no experience with an XD, but I have no reason to want to experience it. The CZ isan excellent firearm. It's accurate, sleek, fits my hand extremely well, the weight is a plus in my opinion as it's not for carry. The polycoat finish is really reallly durable. Can't go wrong with a CZ.

Personally, I'd choose the CZ. The CZ is just a really great shooting gun all around. Try both and see which fits you best and which you shoot best with. For me, the CZ-75B fits my hand like it was molded to it, and it has great balance. I also don't like DAO, so that does tend to sway my personal opinion of the XD, though the ones I've shot were very nice guns.

Both are great guns so choose the one that fits you the best since you can't really choose wrong on this one.

I have several CZ 75s in the family and don't have any XDs, but only because they don't fit.

I am a fervent fan of CZ. They're just an amazing gun. While XD's are swell and everything (I really mean that), it's hard to do better than CZ for the money. Both are comparably priced and polymer framed guns aren't my thing, so definitely the CZ. But whatever you like is fine. You're the one who's going to shoot it, so that's something that should be at the front of your mind.

6 months ago I would have said, hands down, the XD. I have an XD45 and love it. For Christmas my oldest son wanted his first handgun and had shot one of the CZ75 Compacts. I tried to talk him into the XD but he was hell bent and bound to get the CZ. I bought it, took it home and cleaned it up and had to shoot a couple of rounds through it, before boxing it up for him. I was hooked and liked it so much I traded a really nice revolver for my CZ. Mine is the full size CZ75 BD POLICE. It is a super accurate and well made gun, of shich I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top end 9MM.

Both guns are excellent. But if you want CZ, get a full size one.
