Ok so I have one of the earlier XD9 subcompacts that was starting to look like it was getting a reddish hue from rust on the slide. I sent it to SA to have it recoated with the new finish. I got it back and it looks great, but one thing I noticed is the finish is rough (almost like a micro-crinkle finish). It's grippy which is nice for fast solid purchase when racking it, the problem is it also grips little fibers off whatever rag or patch I use to wipe it (the slide) down leaving it looking like it ran through a cotton field.
Anybody else experience this and have any suggestions on what would be good to wipe it down with? Are the melonite finishes supposed to be rough? It's not smooth like the original finish on this or the XD45 or like the tennifer on glocks.
