Almost bought a Springfield XDS 45 before the recall. Seemed to me at the time the trigger was pretty good. Then the recall came. Today I picked up one that has been "fixed" with the added pin. The trigger on it was the most atrocious thing I have felt. Anyone else discovered this after the recall? Think I might pass on this one...

So get parts from springer precision or send it to springfield custom shop for combat trigger job with over travel adjustment. Problem solved.

I will get mine back from the factory next week. One of the things I liked so much about mine was the trigger. I'm hoping that all these stories of horrible trigger pull after the fix are just interwebz hyperbole.

Mine is a little heavier post-recall, but the creep (travel past initial take-up) seems to be a lot greater than it was pre-recall. I even sent mine back to SA after the recall and it came back the same. It's still not a horrible trigger for a defensive gun.

My XDS returned from the factory with the trigger marginally better. The break is much cleaner with only a slightly heavier feel to the trigger pull. Bottom line is that it is now a better pistol for me.

Can any of you describe the best you can the amount of "creep" your post-recall triggers have, meaning the amount of travel your trigger has after the initial take-up, but before it breaks? I ask because some people claim their trigger has "no creep," whereas mine is somewhere on the order of 1/16" to an 1/8".

Its a plastic, striker fired fighting gun... It'll never have a good trigger. They get a little better with use though.

Mine came back with a terrible trigger and many malfunctions. Most came back working perfectly fine. Some had a gritty trigger and others were clean, just heavier than original.

Point being, Ive personally handled 3 of these pistols and they all felt very different when it came to the trigger.

It's not a range gun. It accomplishes its mission just fine. Mine is post-recall and the trigger maxed out a digital Lyman gauge at over 12 pounds.

I put in a Powder River Precision spring kit and it went to a nice 5 lbs. 2 oz. Yes, that spring kit does utilize a new striker spring also... I have put nearly 500 rounds through the gun without one single failure and no light strike. All the primers look very well struck.

Like I said though, it's not a range gun. Even with a reasonable trigger, you simply don't want to shoot this gun much. It's not particularly pleasant, but I seem to be always able to easily hit center mass at any reasonable self defense distance. My opinion of course.

I also had zero issues with my trigger - before or after. And I agree with earlier posts, it's not a range toy, it's a SD firearm. Works every time I pull the trigger - not one issue in hundreds of rounds - both RN and HP.

IMHO, it's a keeper and functions as my warm weather CCW.

A friend of mine complained about the trigger of his post recall XDs feeling different, describing it as gritty. He said the it cleared up after firing a few hundred rounds to loosen it back up a bit. Trigger weight increase is less than the published .5 pound.

On the regular xd with the combat trigger Job from springfield armory it has no pre travel, no over travel, short reset, and 4.5 pound pull. Its awesome.

A friend at work had his 9mm fixed. He definitely does not like the trigger as much as the one he sent in.

I am wondering, given the nearly non existent number of double fires if this was not more of a lawyers recall than an actual problem. Many owners report having fired thousands of rounds on the original trigger without a problem of any kind. Many are opting to fore go the fix.

And the original trigger was very good. Very crisp let off at the take up point.

Post recall trigger, on mine, there is some creep, I don`t have a pistol with a striker to compare with, but it is not much, unless I am looking for it, I can`t tell it is there.
