other than the light rail are their any advantages/upgrades to buying an operator model 1911 over a loaded model? i've been looking at a loaded champion and a fullsize operator and right now i'm leaning more toward the loaded champion. if the operator is a better pistol i would get it but i can't seem to find much difference between the two other than the light rail that i most likely wouldn't use.

any help would be appreciated.

you could always get a Champion Operator and have both.

i really have no use for the rail on the operator, i already have a dedicated home defense pistol with a light attached.i also carry a light as part of my edc. i only considered the operator because i thought it may have better features than the loaded model. since the operator just means it has a rail i guess i can save some cash and get the loaded champion.

thanks for the info guys.

I just got a parkerized Loaded, the one with night sights, that I'll be breaking in this morning. It is very well put together with all of the add-ons I'd ever want, plus I have no use for a rail on a pistol. I could live without the front slide serrations, in fact, I'd prefer they put that effort into serrations or checkering on the front strap. Overall it's a really nice gun, it's well equipped for self defense or duty use, it's tight, the trigger is crisp (a bit heavy but that's okay given it's intended purpose), the finish is well done, and the price is reasonable considering the cost of some of the other stuff on the market.

If you don't need the rail or the "match grade barrel and bushing" buy the Loaded and spend the savings on ammo.
