I am well aware that SR5744 is used for reduced loads for cast bullets. Does anyone have info on loads for this round using Speer 350 and 400 grain FN jacketed bullets? Can you use it for that? I cannot seem to find that information searching the internet. Thanks.

Are you sure you have that powder number correct? The SR powders are made by IMR but 5744 is an Accurate powder used for the 45-70 and other former Black Powder cartridges.

AA5744 is my new goto powder for the 45-70 and there's nothing reduced about it.

SR 4759 is the IMR powder used for reduced rifle loads... but, I really don't remember anyone using it in the 45-70. On the other hand 2400 and Unique have been used for many years in the 45-70 especially with lead bullets.

Yes, it should be SR4759 or AA 5744. I have some of both.

AA 5744 should be useful in .45-70. It is great for reduced loads in .458 Win Mag. I would have to look up some data, but it should work in .45-70. I just peeked at the Accurate 4.5 PDF, and indeed it will. The PDF is available here.

Sigh, sorry, here is the correct link.

Thanks for the update and I did screw up. It is SR4759. I am looking for loads using jacketed bullets.
