I am a little squimish about the SR9 but I think it reasonable to assume that they've got the bugs worked out. Not looking for another full-sized 9mm though.

At about $375, it seems that the SR9c is pretty hard to beat on price as a CCW.

Anyone have an SR9c? Carrying concealed? Liking it or not?

Looking also at the larger and more expensive G19 (everybody loves those of course) and the Px4 sub-compact (smaller but more expensive). I really like the idea of the Px4 G model with the decocker only. But that is another thread.

My buddy just bought one, I shot it last weekend. I really like, I talked about it too much and he bought it before I could....:banghead:

Tried handling one at a local gun show and just didn't like the way it fit my hand. The full size SR9 feels fine; just something about the shape of the shortened grip didn't feel natural in my hand. It's kind of weird because I had a Taurus PT111 Mil Pro that felt pretty much the same way. Nice compact pistol, but just didn't fit my hand comfortably and didn't point naturally for me.

Love the SR9c so far. Recent purchase. Cleaned and lubed, new ammo purchase, ready to go but haven't made it to the range yet. Fits me perfectly but I have small hands although I did need to flip the backstrap to fill my hand better. I don't need the pinky extension.

Love the extended magazine. Take down is simple. Like the ambi mag release but no ambi slide lock lever if that matters to you. Safety is ambi but it juts out too far and often eats my fingers when I'm working the slide (didn't notice that until I was at home). The slide serrations on mine are a bit sharp. Didn't notice that either when I was at the store. I like the trigger so far. Can't wait to get to the range and go live.

Feels thinner than G19 or G26 which is good since this will be CCW IWB but I'm still waiting for my CHL to come in. Haven't had time to look for a holster. Lack of accessories for this new gun but that's almost true with anything when compared to what's out there for Glocks. Bud's has good prices on the 17 rnd mags. There's a 20% discount off all accessories from the Rugar online store after you purchase the SR9c.

On the other hand, I don't think you can go wrong with the G19. I'll probably pick up a G27 down the road even though I can't get my pinky on it but I really don't care. I'm not familiar with the Px4.

I guess that didn't help. :(

My son has one and loves it. I can't stand it though. Trigger is way too heavy, even for s/d. It has been almost 100% with the exception of some reloaded ammo that was underpowered. Not the gun's fault at all.

Was at the range today. 200 rounds WWB. 7th round failed to fire. Ejected. Inspected but did not see any damage. Rechambered. Failed again. Tossed the bullet. Kept going. Happened again two more times, different rounds but never a FTF. I couldn't keep it on target. Around the 150th round, the SR9c hit its groove. Perhaps it was me? Bad 2 boxes of WWB? :scrutiny:

The remaining 50 shots were good. Fast target acquisition. Good grouping. Good follow up shots. I'll need to put another 800 rounds through it to be sure but I was getting mighty worried for a moment there.

Sorry, no pics.

I have one myself about 150 rounds through it no misfires. I found the trigger group and striker to be a little sticky when I first bought it. I sprayed both with Outers Trilube( breakfree would do the same thing) and worked them back and forth, let them dry than cleaned the gun normally The trigger is excellent now and no problems at all with light strikes, goes boom everytime. Its also very accurate especially for a compact.

My local shop just got one in. They have it priced at $439. I noticed that one of the dots on the rear sight is not painted.
It feels kinda short to me. It's the only one they got, so no reports from any buyers yet.
I bought an SR9 when they first came out and had lots of trouble with mine. I'm still leary about them.
